About

BH Dental NY, located at 2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd in the vibrant Morningside Heights neighborhood of Harlem, New York City, stands as a premier destination for **general and cosmetic dentistry** services tailored to the diverse needs of Manhattan residents. Led by the highly skilled Dr. Leslie Azran, DDS, this patient-centered practice has established itself as a trusted pillar in oral healthcare, offering comprehensive treatments to patients of all ages—from children requiring pediatric consultations to adults seeking advanced restorative solutions. While specific founding dates remain undisclosed in available records, BH Dental NY embodies a commitment to excellence rooted in decades of collective expertise, with every dentist on the team boasting at least **10 years of experience** in diagnosing and repairing complex oral health issues.[5][6] Dr. Azran, a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), brings a wealth of knowledge and a multilingual approach, fluently speaking English, French, and Spanish to ensure clear communication with Harlem's multicultural community.[4][5]

The mission of BH Dental NY is refreshingly straightforward yet profoundly impactful: to deliver top-tier dental care in a **welcoming environment** where patients feel genuinely cared for, from in-depth initial examinations to personalized treatment plans. Unlike many urban dental practices overwhelmed by high-volume turnover, BH Dental NY prioritizes quality over quantity, with a team perpetually engaged in advanced continuing education to stay ahead of the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry. This dedication manifests in their broad spectrum of services, spanning preventive care like routine cleanings and consultations to sophisticated restorative and cosmetic procedures. Patients frequently seek Dr. Azran for common concerns such as bridges, root canals, dental cleanings, and pediatric dentistry, reflecting the practice's versatility in addressing both everyday maintenance and urgent needs.[4][5][6]

What truly sets BH Dental NY apart is its **unique value proposition**: a seamless fusion of general dentistry's reliability with cosmetic dentistry's transformative artistry, all under one roof in the heart of Harlem. The practice excels in restorative solutions like **dental implants**, **dentures**, **crowns and bridges**, and **veneers**, providing lifelong functionality and aesthetic appeal that restore confidence in one's smile. For those battling discoloration, their advanced **teeth whitening** treatments effectively tackle stains of any severity, delivering radiant results. Orthodontic needs are met through **Invisalign®**, the discreet alternative to traditional braces, expertly used to correct misalignments such as overbites and underbites without compromising daily life. Emergency dentistry ensures prompt relief for unexpected pain or trauma, while specialized offerings like **full mouth reconstruction** cater to comprehensive smile makeovers.[1][5][6]

This holistic approach distinguishes BH Dental NY from competitors, many of whom specialize narrowly or operate in sterile, impersonal settings. Here, the emphasis on patient comfort is evident in glowing testimonials praising the 'nice and friendly staff,' 'very clean environment,' and punctual service—earning an impressive average rating of around 4.7-4.75 across platforms.[1][3][7] Reviewers highlight specific providers like Dr. Tanu Prakash for her calming demeanor, light touch, and thorough explanations, underscoring the team's ability to make even complex procedures feel approachable. Operating Monday through Thursday with convenient hours (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, shorter on Wednesdays), the practice accommodates busy urban schedules while maintaining a closed-door policy on weekends to ensure focused, high-quality care.[1][2]

Beyond clinical prowess, BH Dental NY's unique edge lies in its community integration and accessibility. Situated in a neighborhood rich with cultural history, the practice serves not just Harlem but extends its reach to nearby Brooklyn, fostering long-term relationships built on trust and results. The online booking system and direct phone line (607-600-6581) streamline appointments for new and returning patients alike, eliminating barriers to care. In an era where dental anxiety is common, BH Dental NY's compassionate ethos—coupled with cutting-edge treatments—positions it as more than a clinic; it's a partner in lifelong oral health. Whether repairing a decades-old bridge or crafting a stunning new smile, Dr. Azran and her team deliver outcomes that enhance well-being and self-esteem, proving that exceptional dentistry thrives when paired with genuine empathy. As Harlem evolves, BH Dental NY remains steadfast, ready to welcome you for the smile you deserve.[1][4][5][6][7] (Word count: 728)

I had a great experience at this dental office today. Anthony did my cleaning and he was amazing really patient, gentle, and explained everything he was doing. My teeth feel great. Sharon at the front desk was also super helpful. She helped me book my appointment and sorted out my insurance with no stress. She really made the whole visit go smoothly. Definitely recommend this place!

Dr. Aran is super efficient and gentle, I barely felt the Novocain. She redid my fillings and gave me a new crown, and I left really happy with my smile. My mouth looks and feels great. Definitely recommend her and BH Dental.

I’ve been going to Dr. Leslie Azran for regular cleanings for years and couldn’t be happier. She’s thorough, gentle, and incredibly kind; easily the best dentist I’ve ever had. Her staff is equally great. The whole experience feels relaxed and professional from start to finish. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone who actually makes going to the dentist something to look forward to.

Had an overall negative experience here and don’t plan on returning if I can help it: — waited over an hour to be seen — the hygienist experience was the worst of all. I am a weirdo who has always enjoyed getting my teeth cleaned, but this was painful! The way she handled me, it felt like she was straight out of school or something. It was like I was a practice dummy and not a real person. She kept the suction hanging off of my mouth and my face was getting a lot of splash back residue from it the entire time, she forgot to suction me a few times and a mouth full of water would literally run down my neck, and I left with cuts in my gum. It was horrible, the worst teeth cleaning experience I’ve ever had 😓 — I opt for non-fluoride treatment and she couldn’t find it at first and so she said that that’s why my cleaning was uncomfortable (because I passed on the fluoride toothpaste). Then she found the non-fluoride cleaner at the ending, after all that pain 🙄🫩 — to top it all off, the dentist never even came in! They just said, “She says your scans look good and that you can go.” That’s when I really knew that I wasn’t coming back. — then after alllll that, my teeth don’t even feel clean where my permanent retainer is! Just no 😓 — (this may not bother everyone but for those of us who are sensitive to chemical fragrances)… the strong smell of glade plug ins and scent sticks in the front made me feel like i couldn’t breathe. I asked for a face mask, but could Still smell that stuff through the mask. I was excited about this place after reading reviews. But omg did I have a sucky experience.
