Had a wisdom tooth extraction. Great bedside/room manner from Dr. Brisman and his assistant. Helped with my anxiety and nerves heading into the removal. Didn't even need sedation because they helped put me at ease. Was thorough and explained everything very well. Front desk was also very thorough and easy to talk to. If I ever need the other 3 wisdom teeth removed, *hope not* I would come back here.

This office is a terrible scam.. they are no help. They don’t want to help their patients they just want money. After putting in for an authorization on a tooth that needed to be extracted because it impacts the treatment plan for a child’s braces. They received a denial.. asked me to put in the appeal. Because this process is delaying the treatment for my son.. the insurance company requested a peer to peer. I contacted the office their office manager said.. “I don’t know why you are not putting them on a three way.” She then told me the doctor does not do a peer to peer? Yet he takes my son’s insurance? I work for a private practice and we are out of pocket but still do peer to peer. They charge for X-rays even if you have panoramic X-rays done. They will not accept it. The insurance company refused to do a three way. Because that is against their standards on handling patient authorizations. I shared with her she lacked professionalism and was very nasty. She threatened me with the calls are recorded and hung up. I hope and pray whoever that person is never has to deal with a situation like mine. Because they lack compassion and values. The sad part is the Doctor seems so nice. But his office manager is not knowledgeable or maybe lazy. STAND clear from here. I am a practice manager and would never treat my patients like this. Rude. Upon further research I’m glad I am not the only patient to witness this. Maybe if they cared enough they would make appropriate changes.. Maybe based on their location they don’t care enough. Straight scam.

Update: I need to further explain how I asked at the appointment for my insurance to be used. While filling out the paperwork I was told by staff they could not use my insurance. The following day I contacted my insurance and it was confirmed Brisman is an in network provider that has an established contracted fee of 82.00 to charge insured patients for panoramic x-rays. However, he enlists his staff to convince patients that their insurance can't be utilized so he can fleece them for an extra $18.00. Several out of pocket $100 x-ray fees add up—I'm sure. PATIENTS proceed with caution. This is a healthcare provider in Harlem who would rather be deceitful to gain an additional 18.00 while people are struggling in this economy—than practice integrity and honesty and build trust in the community. Original Post: I want to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your office. Before scheduling, I did review some of the online comments about the practice. Although I noticed a range of experiences, I decided to make an appointment, hoping for a positive one. When I called to schedule, I was informed that x-rays were not covered and would cost $100. I asked if I could send in my recent x-rays from another office, but was told this was not an option. I accepted the policy and proceeded with the appointment. Even though I believed the policy was questionable. During my visit, however, I felt that our interaction was not handled with the level of respect or professionalism I expected. I felt that my concerns were not being heard and that the tone of the conversation was dismissive. When I tried to express that I was uncomfortable with the way I was being spoken to, I was told there would be no refunds if I chose to leave. I told him to keep the $100. He responds by saying he's a straight shooter and doesn't hold anyone's hand. I told him I wasn't there to have my hand held. I ultimately decided to end the appointment. I’m sharing this feedback out of disappointment. As a patient, I value clear communication, respect, and compassion—qualities that build trust and strengthen a healthcare provider’s relationship with myself as a patient and the community he's built his business having the opportunity and privilege to set up a practice in and serve. I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit of improvement and understanding.

do not waste time coming here. never sent over any information regarding my tooth extraction to my insurance and it was rejected. they also wanted to charge my husband for an unnecessary part of the procedure claiming its needed because they're "specialists." I promise you these people are a waste of time. disorganized and take your healthcare as a joke. If you had a positive experience here it's cause you have money to spend on bullshit you don't need. disgusting attitudes, outright disrespectful. Only good thing i got from here was my own X-ray. lol a joke this place
