About

Tend Dental is a modern dental practice that has revolutionized the patient experience by combining state-of-the-art technology with compassionate, judgment-free care. Founded with a mission to reinvent dentistry, Tend operates multiple studios across New York City, including a Chelsea location, and is dedicated to treating oral health as an essential component of overall well-being.[2] The practice distinguishes itself through a patient-centered philosophy that prioritizes comfort, clarity, and trust at every stage of care.

At the core of Tend's mission is the belief that dental visits should be something patients look forward to rather than dread. The practice achieves this through several key differentiators. First, Tend employs a judgment-free approach to care, meeting patients where they are without lectures or guilt, regardless of how long it has been since their last visit.[2] This philosophy creates a welcoming environment for patients who may have experienced anxiety or neglect in their dental health.

Tend's clinical excellence is grounded in the expertise of its dental professionals. All dentists are graduates of respected dental schools with training from highly-rated residency programs and regularly complete continuing education courses to stay current with advances in dentistry.[3] This commitment to ongoing professional development ensures that patients receive care based on the latest clinical standards and evidence-based practices.

The practice leverages cutting-edge technology to enhance both the quality and comfort of care. State-of-the-art tools including digital X-rays and 3D scanning enable dentists to diagnose and treat conditions with precision while reducing patient discomfort and recovery time.[2] These technological investments reflect Tend's philosophy of being "empowered by technology, fueled by human care."

Tend's approach to treatment planning is distinctly patient-focused. Rather than pursuing quick fixes or unnecessary procedures, dentists explain every recommendation clearly so patients understand the rationale behind suggested treatments.[2] This transparency builds trust and ensures patients receive only the care they truly need, without pressure or upsells.

The practice has also modernized the administrative and scheduling experience. Tend developed an innovative app that allows patients to book appointments in just a few taps, choose from multiple convenient times and locations, reschedule instantly, and manage insurance information digitally.[4] This eliminates the traditional friction points of dental scheduling—no more phone calls, verbal schedule comparisons, or paperwork-heavy check-ins. Patients can also specify preferences like polishing paste flavor and preferred TV shows for their visit, personalizing the experience.

Tend's service offerings are comprehensive, spanning preventative, restorative, orthodontic, and cosmetic dental care.[3] Routine services include cleanings, exams, and X-rays, while specialized treatments encompass dental implants, teeth whitening using the advanced Philips Zoom system, veneers, Invisalign clear aligners, and oral surgery.[3] Standard cleanings typically take 30–60 minutes and include tailored oral health recommendations.[1]

Patient testimonials consistently highlight the exceptional experience at Tend. Patients praise the modern facility design, professional and courteous staff, and the genuine care provided by dentists and hygienists. Many note that the practice has transformed their perception of dental visits, with some specifically mentioning how features like in-office TVs and attentive staff make the experience more comfortable. The warm, serene atmosphere and the staff's attention to individual needs—such as caring for sensitive teeth—have earned Tend strong patient loyalty and recommendations.

Tend's commitment to accessibility is reflected in its flexible scheduling, including evening and Saturday appointments to accommodate busy lifestyles.[1] For patients without dental insurance, the practice offers transparent pricing, with comprehensive exams including cleaning, X-rays, and personalized evaluation available at a set rate.[3]

Overall, Tend Dental represents a modern reimagining of dental practice, where clinical excellence, technological innovation, and genuine human care converge to create an experience that prioritizes patient well-being and satisfaction.

I love Dr. Maysa Baht! She is so bubbly and has great attention to detail. Although my visit required getting multiple unpleasant shots for numbing, Dr. Maysa Baht made the visit wayyyy more enjoyable because of her bubbly and kind energy. I am happy I found a great dentist in the city that I look forward going to :)

The hygienist was phenomenal! (Verretta i think her name was?). My cleaning went well, and i got some great advice on how to improve my brushing. But then the dentist came in and gave me a rushed 5 minute sales pitch about a bunch of stuff i don’t need. That the dentist HERSELF said i had no current issues. No conversation, no care, just being pressured into making a purchase. would not recommend coming here.

Kind people and knowledgeable doctors but disorganized, confusing communication throughout my three phases of treatment: Invisalign round 1, round 2, and final retainer. When my Invisalign was initially installed it felt like there was glue everywhere, the staff had a hard time getting the attachments to stay, and I left with a sore on the edge of my mouth. Partway through my treatment I received a new doctor and wasn't protectively told until I saw the name change for my appointment. Continuously the staff would try to be helpful by saying, "last time we did..." Or "today we're doing..." And that was usually incorrect. I blame the Tend system more than the staff, the notes seemed very inconsistent and the doctor often had to triple check things listed in there. There was a disagreement between my doctor and the Invisalign company at one point in which the second round didn't fit properly causing surprise removal of some of my attachments but not all. After all attachments were removed I still felt like there was glue on my teeth probably from the hectic installment. The doctor polished it off for me but seemed frustrated with my insistence on taking a second look for leftover glue. For my last appointment the doctor had told me we'd check the fit of the retainer together. We didn't. And when I was checking out there was confusion about whether I needed to come back, when, and then I was incorrectly told I should have received a case for aligners which caused undue frustration. Throughout all the communication breakdowns it seemed like the staff was frustrated with me and that it was my fault. This place stressed me out given the price I paid for the service. I am on the fence about going back.

A review for the Tend business as a whole. I have been to two offices: Chelsea and West Village. My experiences with hygienists have been solid and the dentists are generally fine to positive. I enjoyed the convenience of the app which is the positive of a large chain like this. The cracks start to show as soon as you need anything personal. The app constantly crashed on me making rescheduling very difficult so I had to call in and go through the phone tree. When my husband was getting more complex work done (braces) here, he had so much trouble anytime he needed to contact anyone when a bracket broke. He was being sent to different offices then being told work couldn't be done because one office didn't have the right tools. Then recently I had a friend who was just looking for some simple teeth cleaning and check up and I referred her to Tend cause they have a $50 bonus for both parties. This happened almost a month ago. She's been trying to ask about the referral since and hasn't heard back. Then I reached out about it and was told that they weren't doing referrals anymore because of a system change. I asked if the referral reward would be sent out after the system is updated and they said no they aren't doing the program right now. Despite this, the page for the referral program was still up. Once again this referral happened over a month ago, and this page was up and advertising referrals Tend won't pay out for. I called them out on their dishonesty and the pages seem to be taken down now. The individual people at these locations may be fine but this business as a whole can't be trusted.

I came in for a cleaning and was told I needed to get 6 fillings spread over two days. I went to a different dentist to get a second opinion and was told I didn't need any of them. They have someone on the staff who comes in to review the treatment with you, almost like a salesperson. Overall very icky feeling and I am so glad I saved myself the time, money, and pain and went to a dentist who cares about their patients more than maximizing profits. I would absolutely not recommend coming here, or if you do be sure to get a second opinion before getting any work done
