About

Tend Hell's Kitchen, located at 242 W 53rd St Suite A, New York, NY 10019, represents the latest expansion of Tend, an innovative dental network dedicated to revolutionizing the dental care experience through a hospitality-driven, patient-centered approach. Opened on March 12, 2025, this studio marks Tend's 15th location in New York City and 29th nationwide, underscoring the company's rapid growth and commitment to making high-quality dentistry accessible and enjoyable for urban dwellers.[1][2] Tend was founded on the premise that traditional dental visits often evoke anxiety, judgment, and discomfort—issues that the company's dentists sought to address by remaking the entire patient journey. From its inception, Tend has prioritized empowering patients with transparent, personalized care in environments that feel more like boutique spas than sterile clinics, blending state-of-the-art technology with warm hospitality to foster trust and long-term oral health.[3][7]

The mission of Tend, vividly embodied at its Hell's Kitchen studio, is to deliver dental care that patients actually look forward to, focusing not just on oral health but on overall well-being. As articulated by CEO Troy Bage (noted in early announcements, with Brian Bouma currently leading as CEO), Tend believes dentistry should be 'designed around you,' offering a stress-free atmosphere where individuals feel seen, soothed, and delighted.[1][5] This philosophy is brought to life under the leadership of Dr. William Ferrante, the Lead Dentist at Tend Hell's Kitchen. Dr. Ferrante, with over two years as an Associate Dentist at Tend, brings impressive credentials: undergraduate degrees in Cell and Molecular Biology and Studio Art, an M.A. in Biological Sciences from Binghamton University, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry (2021), and a General Practice Residency at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx. Partnering with Studio Manager Jonell Christian, Dr. Ferrante ensures every visit delivers the highest level of care in a welcoming space.[1]

Tend Hell's Kitchen offers comprehensive full-service dentistry, including routine cleanings, new patient exams, dental consultations, bridges, root canals, orthodontics, cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening, and full family dental care. Patients frequently seek services such as dental cleanings and root canals, reflecting the studio's versatility for both preventive and advanced needs.[1][3] The studio's design, completed in 2024 by architects The Lawrence Group and MEP engineers AMA Group, features sleek, modern finishes that prioritize patient flow, comfort, and professionalism—creating a curated environment that soothes jitters and elevates the experience beyond conventional offices.[2]

What sets Tend Hell's Kitchen apart is its unique value proposition: a seamless fusion of cutting-edge dental expertise with hospitality elements. Unlike traditional practices, Tend eliminates the clinical coldness by incorporating spa-like settings, flexible scheduling (including early mornings and evenings), trusted local dentists and hygienists, and tech-forward tools for precise, efficient care. This approach addresses common pain points—lack of trust, judgment, and discomfort—by combining trusted treatments with non-judgmental teams, soothing ambiances, and delightful products. The result? Patients leave feeling amazing about their smiles, confident in every bite, laugh, or kiss.[3][6][7] Tend's nationwide expansion, now with dozens of studios, demonstrates its scalable model, but each location like Hell's Kitchen maintains a hyper-local feel, tailored to vibrant NYC neighborhoods.

In a competitive dental landscape dominated by outdated models, Tend Hell's Kitchen distinguishes itself through relentless patient-first innovation. Its emphasis on overall health, judgment-free interactions, and boutique aesthetics redefines standards, earning loyalty in a city where convenience and quality are paramount. Whether for routine maintenance or transformative cosmetics, Tend empowers New Yorkers with dentistry that's human, personalized, and empowering—proving that exceptional oral care can be an anticipated highlight, not a dreaded chore. With appointments available online via platforms like Zocdoc and a phone line at (212) 686-3686, the studio invites all to experience dental done differently.[1][3][4] As Tend continues to grow, Hell's Kitchen stands as a beacon of its vision: dentistry that heals, delights, and inspires healthier smiles across the community.

Tend dental is the most painless, pleasant dental experience I've had! I have major dental issues, missing half my teeth and have had many cavities, abcessed infected teeth and crooked news throughout my life. I got braces as a teenager, but later in life Tend saved me by pulling infected teeth and creating a basic treatment plan and course of action to address my urgent need, and all procedures were pretty painless and all the people I worked with have been totally non judgemental and didn't make me feel any kind of way, which is super important!! They don't take a lot of insurances, or medicaid, but they do take several well known insurances, so if you're able to get it through your job or sign up for one they take, it is 100% worth it. Best dental experience ever, and I've had many! Quick too, but not sacrificing quality. Also, the offices are so calming and clean and receptionists are super nice.

I had a a perfect experience during my dental exam and filling. The entire team made me feel so comfortable from the moment I walked in. Dr. Ferrante explained everything clearly, checked in with me throughout the procedure, and made sure I never felt any discomfort! The filling was quick, painless, and incredibly well done. Highly recommend!

Great experience at Tend! The dental hygienist was fantastic, and the entire staff was friendly, professional, and welcoming. I’m very glad I chose Tend as my provider for dental care and highly recommend them.

Update: someone called me after I left my review to rectify the situation. Which was greatly appreciated. I was able to get my original visit date and time. I had a great first experience at Tend. The hygienist Ruben and Dr. (sorry can’t recall his name right now, last name starts with F) were very thorough and made me feel comfortable. I received a cleaning and filling. No pain or irritation during both. Clean office. I booked my appointment on August 23 for September 12 at 5:30pm. I received a text to confirm and the appointment time says 5pm. I called to explain that I did not book at 5 and asked for clarification as to why it changed. All I received was it says your appointment is at 5pm. I stated I cannot come at 5. The point of me booking 5:30. Told me no 5:30 is available only before or after. If this is my first impression of how this business runs, I will go elsewhere.

While the team is incredibly kind, it’s one of the most chaotic and disorganized experiences I’ve ever had. I am in the middle of Invisalign treatment and, while I’m hopeful my teeth will turn out the way I want them, I wouldn’t recommend this particular office. Maybe other locations are different. My experience has been waiting on the phone for up to 20 minutes and then having to resort to emails that sometimes go unanswered, showing up to a confirmed appointment to have them say they weren’t expecting me (they actually asked me to explain what I was there for that day after I waited 50 minutes past my appointment time), and being given a confirmed appointment only to find out the office is closed that day. I’ve escalated twice and heard nothing back other than an email saying “sorry to hear your experience has not been the best” only to then continue with the confusing communication. I see other fantastic reviews so maybe this is unique to Invisalign or I’m just unlucky, but at this point it feels like time to warn others to try another location or practice.
