About

PDA Dental, located at 150 Broadway, Suite 1310, in the heart of New York City's vibrant Financial District, has been a cornerstone of comprehensive dental care since its establishment in 1996. Founded as a full-service dental practice, PDA Dental was originally led by Dr. David Ritholtz, who built a reputation for personalized, high-quality dentistry that prioritized patient comfort and long-term oral health. Over the years, the practice has evolved into a multi-specialty hub, bringing together general dentists, cosmetic specialists, and board-certified experts under one roof to serve patients of all ages in Lower Manhattan. Though patient reviews note a transition in ownership away from Dr. Ritholtz—leading to some mixed feedback on changes in staff dynamics and pricing—PDA Dental continues to uphold its commitment to state-of-the-art care, leveraging cutting-edge technology and techniques to deliver exceptional results[1][2][3].

The mission of PDA Dental is simple yet profound: to empower patients and their families with beautiful, healthy smiles that enhance confidence and well-being. This is achieved through a patient-centered approach that emphasizes preventive care, restorative treatments, and transformative cosmetic procedures. From routine cleanings and checkups to complex smile makeovers, the practice offers a comprehensive array of services designed to address every oral health need. Their modern facility is equipped with the latest innovations, ensuring visits are not only effective but also comfortable and efficient. Hygienists like Mariluz, Lynn, Lin, and Ruth have been praised for their gentleness, patience, and professionalism, while dentists such as Dr. Erik Stump, Dr. Yonaton Mehrzadi, and formerly Dr. Steven Ritholtz (a Platinum Plus Invisalign Provider) bring expertise that spans general dentistry to orthodontics[1][2][3].

What truly sets PDA Dental apart is its multi-specialty collaboration. Unlike single-provider offices, PDA Dental features a talented team of general dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, pediatric dentists, periodontists, and endodontists working cohesively from one convenient location. This integrated model allows for seamless referrals and comprehensive treatment plans, eliminating the need for patients to shuttle between specialists. Their specialization in Invisalign teeth straightening stands out, with promotions for consultations highlighting Dr. Steven Ritholtz's elite status as a Platinum Plus Provider, making clear aligner therapy accessible and effective for adults and teens alike. The practice also excels in cosmetic dentistry, including crowns, veneers, and complete smile makeovers, alongside preventive services like dental cleanings—patients are specifically advised to select 'Dental Cleaning' when booking to ensure the right appointment[1][3][5].

PDA Dental's unique value proposition lies in its blend of advanced technology, personalized service, and a welcoming environment that transforms dental visits into pleasant experiences. Positive reviews highlight the team's ability to explain procedures in detail, foster trust, and even make cleanings relaxing enough to 'fall asleep' during. The practice speaks Spanish ('¡Se Habla Español!'), broadening accessibility, and accepts CareCredit for flexible financing options on treatments ranging from routine care to major procedures[3][5]. Located steps from major transit hubs, it's ideally suited for busy New Yorkers seeking efficient, top-tier care without leaving the neighborhood.

In an industry often criticized for corporate feel, PDA Dental distinguishes itself by maintaining a family-oriented ethos amid its growth. While some long-time patients lament the shift from its founder-led days—citing higher costs for items like Invisalign retainers and changes in front desk service—the practice's 3.7/5 rating on Zocdoc from 16 reviews and glowing testimonials on its site underscore its strengths in skilled dentistry and patient satisfaction[1][2]. With over 25 years of service as of 2026, PDA Dental remains dedicated to lifetime oral health, inviting new patients to experience why it's the leading source for personalized dental care in Lower Manhattan. Whether you're due for a checkup, exploring Invisalign, or need specialized treatment, their caring team is ready to deliver smiles that last[1][2][3]. (Word count: 612)

Had a great first experience at PDA Dental. The staff was very professional and the Dental Assistant/Hygienist La La was empathetic, friendly and professional. As a health care professional and business owner myself I would highly recommend PDA dental.

My sincere thanks to the PDA Dental team for the excellent care you provided to me recently. Dr. Stump - The process of replacing multiple crowns felt quite daunting at first, but you, Mary Lou and your wonderful team made it a smooth and comfortable experience. Your calm, reassuring approach and thoughtful chair-side manner helped put me at ease right away. I truly appreciated the way you explained everything with care and made sure I felt supported throughout the procedures. It means a great deal to feel heard and looked after in a setting that can so often be stressful. Thank you again for your skill, professionalism, and kindness. I’m grateful to be in such good hands and highly recommend you to anyone looking for an outstanding dentist! Marita S. - Thanks very much for my recent dental cleaning. You were so friendly and made the whole thing feel way less “dentist-y” than I expected. I really appreciate how thorough you were and all the tips you gave me to keep my teeth feeling their best. You’ve got a knack for putting people at ease, and it made the appointment such a breeze. Looking forward to seeing you again at my next visit!

She went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, took the time to answer all of my questions in detail, and was very attentive to everything I needed throughout my visit. It really made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I truly appreciate her excellent customer service and highly recommend PDA Dental because of team members like Alisha.

I have been a patient at PDA Dental in downtown Manhattan for decades and have always been treated with respect and compassion for all my concerns. Sheri, my hygienist of many years, is a warm, thoughtful, and friendly person along with being a consummate professional at her job. She always eases me through my appointment with care and good humor.

WILL LIE ABOUT COPAY! DONT GO HERE! I was supposed to have a $35 copay and they charged me $250! I had even called in advance to verify insurance and that I would have the $35 copay for the usual dental exam, which they had confirmed, and said nothing of the "required new patient exams" they would force on me. When I get to the appt, they start pushing for other exams that they say they "need to do for first time appts". I kept saying to please see if it was covered by my insurance before performing as I was not familiar with these exams, but they said I had to do these exams as a new patient. Then I'm hit with a $250 bill. I always get my bi-annual dental exams and this was the first time I was charged over my $35 copay. When I called my insurance on why the services weren't covered, my insurance said the dentist did exams that were above the normal amount they were supposed to do for annual exams. Essentially the dentist told me these exams were required for new patients and were covered by my insurance, forced me to get exams even when I said I did not want to, and then I had to pay an unreasonable bill for an appt that should have been a normal annual appt. They also try to push invisalign and teeth whitening.
