About

Tribeca North Dentistry, located at 78 Laight St in the heart of New York City's vibrant Tribeca neighborhood, stands as a premier destination for pediatric dental care, offering exceptional services in a welcoming and child-friendly environment. Led by the highly acclaimed Dr. Elizabeth (Ela) Persico, DMD, this practice specializes in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, catering to children of all ages with a focus on creating positive, stress-free experiences that foster lifelong oral health habits. While specific details on the practice's founding year remain unavailable, Tribeca North Dentistry has earned a stellar reputation among families in Manhattan, as evidenced by its perfect 5.0 rating on platforms like Yelp and MapQuest, where parents rave about the compassionate care provided.[1] The mission of Tribeca North Dentistry is rooted in transforming dental visits from dreaded appointments into enjoyable outings, emphasizing patient comfort, education, and gentle techniques tailored to young patients, including those with sensory issues or special needs. Dr. Persico and her skilled team, which includes experienced orthodontists like Dr. Ta Sinh, DDS, bring a wealth of expertise in treating the unique dental needs of children, from routine cleanings and check-ups to complex orthodontic treatments such as braces.[1][2] What truly sets Tribeca North Dentistry apart is its unwavering commitment to personalized, empathetic care in a beautifully designed office space that captivates children's imaginations. Parents consistently highlight how Dr. Ela takes the time to connect with each child, explaining procedures in simple, reassuring terms to build trust and alleviate fears—making even first visits thrilling rather than terrifying.[1] Reviews underscore this unique value proposition: one parent noted, 'Thanks to Dr. Ela and her team, my kids actually love going to the dentist. She takes time to connect with the children so they feel safe and comfortable,' while another praised her patience with a child who has sensory issues, describing the experience as calm and positive.[1] This approach contrasts sharply with traditional dental practices, where anxiety often prevails; instead, Tribeca North Dentistry prioritizes a holistic experience that educates families on preventive care, addresses issues promptly, and ensures every child leaves with a smile. The practice's expertise extends to handling a wide range of pediatric concerns, including early orthodontic evaluations, cavity treatments, and behavioral guidance for cooperative dental visits. Dr. Persico's warm personality and clear communication—explaining problems thoroughly to both children and parents—empower families to make informed decisions about their child's oral health.[1] As a Zocdoc-listed provider, the practice facilitates easy online booking, enhancing accessibility for busy New York families.[2] In an area saturated with general dentists, Tribeca North Dentistry distinguishes itself through its niche focus on pediatrics and orthodontics, combined with rave referrals from fellow dental professionals, such as dentists and oral surgeons recommending Dr. Ta for braces.[1] This peer endorsement speaks volumes about the clinical excellence upheld within these walls. The office's location in the trendy Tribeca area adds to its appeal, blending urban sophistication with a nurturing atmosphere perfect for downtown dwellers. Services are delivered with state-of-the-art techniques in a setting that feels more like a playroom than a clinic, featuring elements designed to engage young minds and reduce apprehension. Parents of children aged 10 and 12, who have seen multiple downtown providers, declare Dr. Ela the best, citing her pre-procedure explanations that prepare kids without causing alarm.[1] This level of attentiveness not only yields superior clinical outcomes but also cultivates loyalty, with families returning year after year. Tribeca North Dentistry's unique value proposition lies in its fusion of medical proficiency, emotional intelligence, and environmental design—elements that collectively redefine pediatric dentistry. By making oral health fun and approachable, the practice sets a new standard in New York City, ensuring children associate dental care with positivity rather than pain. Whether it's a routine exam or specialized orthodontic intervention, every visit reinforces the practice's core belief: healthy smiles start with happy experiences. As Tribeca continues to grow as a family hub, Tribeca North Dentistry remains the go-to choice for parents seeking uncompromising quality in pediatric dental services.[1][2] (Word count: 612)

I just took my toddler for his first dentist visit and was absolutely blown away. Dr. Cheryl is incredibly gifted and amazing with children. I was so impressed and grateful. The visit was easy, fun, and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I did a ton of research before picking a pediatric dentist, and Tribeca North Dentistry (especially Dr. Cheryl) did not disappoint!

Dr. Ta is an extremely talented pediatric orthodontist. I brought my two children to her based on the recommendation of our close family friends who have three children who are also happy patients. Dr. Ta is extremely observant and thoughtful. She approached treatment for each child based not only on their teeth and their stage of development, but also on their personalities. She knew which one would do better with braces and which would be fine with Invisalign. She knew how to manage one child's fear of dentists and doctors and worked closely with Dr. Ella to remove the teeth necessary to get the best results. Dr. Ta earned our trust, especially the trust of my fearful child. She showed us the x-rays that showed the incoming adult teeth that were starting to cause my daughter's straight front teeth to splay and explained that the sooner we removed the baby teeth that were slow to fall out, the less intervention she would need with braces or Invisalign. Because my daughter was afraid to have teeth removed, we delayed the procedure while she tried to wiggle out the teeth herself. When she was finally brave enough to have the teeth removed (which was beautifully handled by Dr. Ella and a non-issue), we could immediately see the front teeth begin to come back together. My daughter said, "Mom, when Dr. Ta says we should do something, we should do it right away next time" - this from the last person on earth I would ever expect to agree to a tooth extraction! My younger child was a more complex case. Dr. Ta could see that she would need a palate expander by 1st or 2nd grade. She also knew that my daughter would do best with a removable palate expander so that she could keep her teeth as clean as possible, and the results were stunning. Because she still had teeth to lose, expanding her palate early on helped her adult teeth come in without over crowding. Once she had braces, Dr. Ta patiently waited for remaining teeth to fall out/grow in, while holding space for them. Dr. Ta was quick to realize that some of the baby molars were not falling out as expected but were instead beginning to sink into the gum. Luckily, we were able to remove those teeth before they caused an issue for the surrounding teeth or worse began to fuse to the bone. Again, the extraction was super easy, since they were baby teeth. My daughter is thrilled with how her teeth look so far, and she quite likes picking out the color of her bands on her braces each visit. Along the way, I decided to get my teeth straightened... again... as my teeth had became crowded despite lots of orthodontic intervention as a teenager. I wish I had had an orthodontist like Dr. Ta back then! Dr. Ta is talented, kind and patient (especially with adults who are not perfect with wearing their Invisaligns... ehem). All three of are very happy patients. I couldn't recommend her more.

I have been coming to Dr. Ta since I was 5 years old. I am back for Invisalign as an adult and I couldn’t be happier. I never want to stop seeing her! There is no one kinder or more knowledgeable! I highly recommend using her as your orthodontist!

Our family has had a wonderful experience with Tribeca North Dentistry, and in particular, with Dr. Ta. Dr. Ta has great bedside manners and made our 3-year-old daughter feel quite comfortable with a difficult situation (crossbite). We also highly commend Dr. Ta for telling us to start the palette expander at the early age of 3; it has worked quite well and quickly fixed her cross-bite!

I had such a wonderful experience at Tribeca North Dentistry. I was slightly nervous about using Invisalign and rubber bands but Dr.Ta did a great job educating me on why this was necessary to fix my teeth. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking to get Invisalign. Thank you Dr.Ta, I love my smile!
