About

BrismanDental, located in the iconic and historic Washington Square Park neighborhood of Greenwich Village, New York City, represents a pinnacle of personalized, high-quality dental care. For decades, this established practice has served the diverse community of Manhattan and beyond, building a reputation founded on clinical excellence, compassionate patient relationships, and a serene, welcoming environment. Nestled at 31 Washington Square West, the practice is situated in one of New York's most intellectually and culturally vibrant areas, catering to university affiliates, local families, professionals, and art enthusiasts who call the Village home. The practice's philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that optimal oral health is integral to overall well-being and confidence, driving a patient-centric approach that treats individuals, not just teeth.

The history of BrismanDental is intertwined with the professional journey of its lead practitioner, Dr. Mark Brisman. A respected figure in New York dental circles, Dr. Brisman established his practice with a vision to create a dental home where advanced technology meets old-fashioned care and attention to detail. Over the years, the practice has evolved, incorporating state-of-the-art digital dentistry while maintaining its core values of integrity, transparency, and unparalleled clinical skill. The mission is straightforward yet profound: to provide exceptional, comprehensive dental care in a comfortable and anxiety-free setting, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their oral health.

BrismanDental's expertise spans the full spectrum of general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry, with a particular emphasis on creating beautiful, natural-looking smiles that function perfectly. The practice is distinguished by its commitment to using the highest quality materials and the most advanced techniques available. This includes digital imaging and intraoral scanners for precise, comfortable impressions, CAD/CAM technology for same-day restorations like crowns and veneers, and laser dentistry for minimally invasive procedures. The team's expertise extends to complex restorative cases involving dental implants, full-mouth rehabilitation, and bite correction, often coordinating with a network of trusted specialists to ensure seamless, comprehensive care.

What truly sets BrismanDental apart is its unique value proposition centered on a bespoke patient experience. From the moment patients enter the elegant, art-filled office, they are greeted as valued guests. Appointments are never rushed, allowing for thorough consultations and meticulous treatment. The practice operates on a foundation of trust, ensuring patients fully understand their options and the associated investment. There is no pressure, only guidance from a highly knowledgeable team. Furthermore, the practice's location in a residential, landmark building offers a discreet and calming atmosphere far removed from the sterile, impersonal feel of large corporate clinics. This boutique-style practice limits the number of patients seen daily to ensure each receives focused attention.

Another defining characteristic is the practice's artistic eye for cosmetic dentistry. Understanding that a smile is a core component of personal expression, the team at BrismanDental approaches aesthetic enhancements as a collaborative art form. They consider facial symmetry, lip line, skin tone, and the patient's personal desires to craft restorations that are not just technically sound but breathtakingly natural and uniquely suited to the individual. This blend of science and artistry, delivered in a setting of warmth and professionalism, has fostered immense loyalty among their patient base, many of whom have been with the practice for generations. In a city teeming with dental options, BrismanDental stands out as a sanctuary of excellence, where lasting oral health and stunning smiles are built on a foundation of genuine care and masterful craftsmanship.

I came into Brisman Dental for an emergency broken tooth, and a secondary problem which Dr. Jason Brisman found to be of more concern. Dr. Brisman proceeded to take care of the problem, explained each step and was very knowledgeable in his treatment. His calming kind manner puts you at ease. His staff was very competent and friendly. The office was clean, welcoming and very calming with modern equipment. I will be returning to complete my treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Jason Brisman.

Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but today I went in and saw Dr. Jason. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at the dentist. He treated me in a comprehensive manner, listened to all my questions and took his time with my evaluation. Despite the hygienist being booked, he went out of his way to also do the cleaning. Couldn’t recommend him more! I never thought I’d say this about a the dentist, but I look forward to going back. Also it’s amazing that he is a fourth generation dentist and partnered with his Dad. This is a family run business and they treat you like family. If you need anything dental related, run don’t walk to see Dr. Jason Brisman!

I switched to Brisman Dental after declining care at another office and I am so glad that I did! The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable and really cared both about the health of my teeth and further education about my teeth and oral hygiene. I am excited for my next visit in a way I’ve never been with a dentist!

I’ve been a patient at Brisman Dental for almost 20 years and can’t imagine going anywhere else! Dr. David Brisman is both knowledgeable and kind. I’ve received only expert care and never felt pressured into getting any procedures done. He explains the pros and cons of his suggestions and is happy to answer any questions. His son, Dr. Jason Brisman, recently joined the practice and clearly takes after his father. He’s very friendly and attentive, and he’s great at explaining any recommended procedures. The rest of the team are also fantastic. Lali is my hygienist and I always appreciate the care and attention she shows me during cleanings. It’s because of her that I finally started flossing every day! She also has a wonderful sense of humor. And Emma at the front desk is always helpful and friendly and explains my insurance plan in a way that makes sense!

Not recommended. I had two consultations with them and I must say that I am very disappointed with the treatment I received. On my first visit, I went there only to inquire about changing a crown, but Dr. David mentioned that he could also take care of my gum issue. I was surprised, because on Zocdoc it says he is only a prosthodontist, but sure I let him take the lead. He brought in Dr. Jason, which is his son, to talk about all the ways he could help with my gum issue. I was convinced. They asked me to follow up in six weeks. On my second appointment, Dr. David walked in looking upset and impatient, not sure why. Dr. Jason was supposed to see me too, but somehow he did not even bother to show up even though he was in the clinic on that day. I took the CT scan which he instructed me to take, and after looking at the CT scan, Dr. David said that this case is out of his league and that it is a difficult case. He said there is a bone loss surrounding the dental implant and therefore he is not able to help with the gum work. He also said I need an oral surgeon. Now he walked back on his claim that he and his son are oral surgeons. What makes me even more surprised is, on the first consult, his son already predicted that there is a bone loss surrounding the implant and that they need to do both bone graft and gum graft. Now that the scan shows exactly that, they took back all the fancy magic they claimed they were going to do, such as, doing both bone graft and gum graft at the same time, drawing my blood and using it on the grafting site to promote healing, and pulling my gum as down as possible so that it could extend – among a few other things. The WORST part is Dr. David cursed me on my way out saying, “I cannot keep giving you free consults.” This is a lie, and not to mention very disrespectful to say to a patient. First, he billed my insurance, he has my insurance. Second, not once during all my visits have they ever mentioned about any consult fee. Dr. David seems to rush the consultation on my second visit, very contrary to the welcome he gave on my first visit. He also said, “I have a lot other patients to take care of” – where was this phrase when you lured me into doing everything with you on my first visit? His son seems like a young, bright talent, but with his dad’s attitude, I think the success of his practice will be limited. Please open your own practice. You can help so many people your father turned down because of his mood swings. I don’t know how smart they are, as I have never had any work done, but the quality of their service seems to be driven by their emotions and moods rather than the fact of the case, which is not a good thing for medical providers.
