About

Harp Endodontics, located in the prestigious Lenox Hill neighborhood of Manhattan at 121 East 60th Street, Suite 10A, stands as a premier center of excellence in the specialized field of endodontic care. Founded and led by Dr. Adam Harp, this practice is built upon a foundational commitment to providing the highest level of microscopic endodontic treatment in a patient-centered, comfortable, and technologically advanced environment. The practice's philosophy is rooted in the understanding that a root canal is often a source of significant anxiety for patients, and thus, every aspect of the experience—from the initial consultation to the final restoration—is meticulously designed to alleviate fear, ensure unparalleled comfort, and deliver clinically superior outcomes that preserve natural teeth for a lifetime.

Dr. Adam Harp, the visionary behind the practice, brings a profound depth of training and expertise to New York City. His educational journey includes graduating magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, followed by a rigorous post-doctoral residency in Endodontics at the prestigious Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. This Ivy League training is the bedrock of his clinical acumen. Dr. Harp is a board-eligible endodontist, actively pursuing diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontology, which represents the pinnacle of achievement in the specialty. His dedication to continuous learning and mastery is evident in his practice's adoption of the most advanced techniques and technologies available.

What truly sets Harp Endodontics apart is its unwavering focus on microsurgical precision and patient experience. The practice operates with the core belief that saving a natural tooth through expert endodontics is always the best option for long-term oral health and function. To this end, they employ state-of-the-art dental operating microscopes for every procedure. This high-powered magnification and illumination allow Dr. Harp to navigate the intricate root canal system with extraordinary precision, often identifying and treating additional canals or complex anatomy that would be missed by the naked eye. This directly translates to higher long-term success rates and healthier outcomes.

Complementing the microscope is a suite of cutting-edge technology, including 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging. This provides a three-dimensional view of the tooth, surrounding bone, and critical structures, enabling unparalleled diagnostic accuracy and safe, predictable treatment planning, especially for complex cases like retreatments or apicoectomies (root-end surgeries). The practice also utilizes digital radiography for instant, low-radiation images and ultrasonic instrumentation for gentle and efficient cleaning of the root canal system.

Beyond technology, the practice's unique value proposition is its atmosphere of calm and compassion. The modern, elegant office is intentionally designed to be a soothing sanctuary, a world away from the typical dental clinic. The staff is carefully trained to be empathetic, communicative, and attentive, ensuring every patient feels heard, informed, and at ease. Dr. Harp is renowned for his meticulous, gentle approach and his ability to explain complex procedures in clear, understandable terms, empowering patients to be active participants in their care. Harp Endodontics specializes in a comprehensive range of services, including non-surgical root canal therapy, re-treatment of previous root canals, treatment of traumatic dental injuries, diagnosis of oral and facial pain, and microsurgical apicoectomies. They work closely with a network of referring general dentists and specialists, ensuring seamless, coordinated care that places the patient's overall dental health at the forefront.

In a city with no shortage of dental specialists, Harp Endodontics distinguishes itself through a powerful synergy of supreme technical skill, Ivy League expertise, a deep commitment to patient comfort, and a holistic, conservative approach to saving teeth. It is a practice where clinical excellence meets human-centric care, making it a trusted referral destination for dentists and a reassuring haven for patients throughout New York City and the tri-state area.

I had an appointment with Dr. Choi at Harp Endodontics about a week ago. I've had some discomfort with a molar and as it was a molar with a crown, it was difficult with regular X-rays to determine what was causing this problem. So a special 3-dimensional X-ray machine at Harp helped with an analysis. And Dr. Choi explained what the result meant. His presentation with the Xrays that were taken, as well as the ones sent to him by my primary dentist, was first rate. I understood everything he said as he proceeded to explain what was going on and what could be done about it. And what options to consider and how these option differed. So I left his office knowing what the problem was and what solutions were at my disposal. And feeling I could now consider what I felt was best for me. He was patient, caring, very personable, and very professional in his realm of expertise. I recommend him highly.

My daughter saw Dr. Zheng after breaking her front tooth. She was very gentle and patient with her and luckily did not need a root canal. My daughter felt less anxiety about her tooth after seeing Dr. Zheng. Our treatment is on-going and we know exactly what to expect because Dr. Zheng took the time to explain the next steps. We have had a positive experience with her!

My oral surgeon, Dr. Choi highly recommended Dr. Kim for a 2nd opinion for a root canal. Dr. Sookyung Kim made me feel at ease right away. She has an excellent bed side manner, calmly explains and answers all questions, and is an expert at what she does. I am so grateful to my oral surgeon for referring my me to her. I now highly recommend Dr. Kim to everyone that needs root canal/endodontic work.
