About

East Village Dental Arts, located at 645 E 11th St #1F in the heart of New York City's vibrant East Village, stands as a distinguished pillar of community-focused, high-quality dental care. Founded on the principle that exceptional dentistry and genuine patient relationships are inseparable, this practice has evolved from a local neighborhood clinic into a respected dental destination known for its artistic approach to oral health. The practice is deeply woven into the fabric of the East Village, an area synonymous with creativity, individuality, and a strong sense of community—values that are directly reflected in the clinic's philosophy and operations.

The mission of East Village Dental Arts is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and technologically advanced dental care in a comfortable, judgment-free environment. They believe in treating the whole person, not just the teeth, understanding that dental health is intrinsically linked to overall well-being, confidence, and quality of life. This patient-centric ethos is the cornerstone of their practice, driving them to listen intently, educate thoroughly, and collaborate with patients to create personalized treatment plans that align with individual health goals, lifestyles, and comfort levels.

What truly sets East Village Dental Arts apart is its unique fusion of clinical excellence with an artistic, detail-oriented approach. The practice operates with the precision and aesthetic sensibility of an art studio, understanding that restorative and cosmetic dentistry are as much about form and function as they are about beauty and natural harmony. This is complemented by a warm, intentionally non-institutional atmosphere designed to alleviate the anxiety often associated with dental visits. The office environment is more akin to a serene, modern loft than a traditional medical office, featuring curated art, calming colors, and a staff that prioritizes genuine hospitality.

The expertise at East Village Dental Arts is broad and deep, encompassing the full spectrum of general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. The practice is led by highly trained dentists who are committed to lifelong learning, regularly incorporating the latest techniques and technologies into their care. Their services range from routine preventive care and hygiene to complex procedures like dental implants, Invisalign orthodontics, and full-mouth reconstructions. A significant area of focus is cosmetic dentistry, including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening, performed with an artist's eye for creating stunning yet naturally enhancing smiles that fit each patient's unique facial aesthetics.

Their unique value proposition is a threefold commitment: to unparalleled patient experience, to cutting-edge care, and to being a trusted community partner. They invest in state-of-the-art technology, such as digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, which allow for precise diagnostics, minimal radiation exposure, and engaging patient education. Furthermore, they understand the pace and pressures of New York life, offering streamlined scheduling, transparent communication, and a deep respect for patients' time.

Ultimately, what distinguishes East Village Dental Arts from larger, impersonal corporate clinics or rushed city practices is its authentic, neighborhood feel combined with world-class dental medicine. They build long-term relationships with generations of families and individuals, serving as both healthcare providers and cheerleaders for their patients' health journeys. In a city of millions, they offer a personalized sanctuary where clinical expertise meets compassionate care, ensuring every visit contributes not only to a healthier smile but to a more positive and empowering healthcare experience.

This place was recommended by my younger sister and it's very nice, clean, and professional. I had the privilege of being treated by one of the R.D.H.'s Venessis D., is awesome! She is knowledgeable of the concerns I had, took her time with treatment, and made me feel comfortable. I can tell she takes pride in caring for the patients she sees and enjoys her profession. Dr. N is also awesome and serious about resolving any issue's one might have. I've always appreciated a sweet but stern bedside manner and getting straight to the point. This office will be recommended to my colleagues, friends, and family.

Went here once a year ago. Dr. Krantz was awesome! Very talkative (in the best way possible); clearly explained what he did and gave me tips for better dental care. I would highly recommend him as a dentist. However, the advertising spam I got from the company after giving my contact info was _way_, and I mean WAYYYY too much (persistent text messages, e-mails, and even phone calls). A single reminder to get my teeth checked would have been fine with me (I get it, business needs some advertising / outreach), but getting nonstop ALL CAPS LOCK REMINDERS TO PLEASE COME IN SOON nearly every week is not okay. This is the _only_ reason I docked my review by one point.

Great for a cleaning but I had a terrible experience getting my first fillings... The doctor was rushed and the work felt sloppy. There was a lack of patience getting my bite right and I had to come back a second time to get it adjusted. Then a week later one of my fillings fell out and I had to get it done again. While sitting in the chair... ANOTHER FILLING FELL out.. They replaced them free of charge and I also noted that the 3rd filling was too tight to floss. They said they fixed it, but it's still too tight. Now, weeks later... that filling is really hurting. Going to look for a new dentist...

I have had a very negative experience with East Village Dental Arts. I had two fillings done here, and they both chipped off / fell out (one a few days later and one a month later). I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but after the second time I will be looking for a new dentist. Additionally, the first time I visited they took x-rays, and then on my second visit they told me they had no x-rays on file for me, meaning that they lost them or the computer deleted them somehow, I guess. I have also had more pain from injections following fillings here than from dentists in the past, but that could be unrelated. Everyone in the office was nice, but I am very disappointed in the quality of care I received.

The work is fair had to ask to polished my crown because it felt light a bottle top with a lip, and the tooth was still rough on the inside. The assistant on a previous call started giving me excuses for there services and that they were short staffed. I told her problems in your office are not my concern . I'm am sure she did not like hearing this from a client. I'm sure she never heard the expression the customer is always right! Well the assistant when called never returned my call and was very obtuse during the dental procedure. I really don't fault Dr. Gent but when leaving the office I said I would never return.
