Me and my wife Valerie are very lucky having found the practice Dental Spa of New York of Dr. Frank Sapienza in our neighborhood of Park Slope. The office environment is very professional and caring from the dental hygienists to the people at the desk. Dr. Sapienza is extremely caring and secure; he takes the time to explain the process and he is equipped with the latest instruments for a successful dental fitting.

It's wonderful to have choices but choices can be overwhelming when the decision is important. Three people recommended Dr. Sapienza to me and he is, hands down, the best dentist I've seen in NYC over the past 20+ years. Kind, gentle, honest, reasonable. Dental work is not cheap but having received a few quotes for a specific work plan, Dental Spa was as close to affordable as it gets (and they accept many different types of plans). I don't think their combination of quality work and straight-forward, transparent billing can be beat. Save yourself some time and visit Dental Spa first.

I have been going to Dr. Frank Sapienza for about 7 years now. His staff and office make any dental appointment a pleasure to go to. Whenever we go for appointments he is always fantastic to talk to. Dr. Frank and his staff are helpful when you have any teeth issues that need immediate assistance. He greets everyone with a smile. His friendly staff greet us with smiles as well every time. My whole family goes there and even with a husband frightened by years of bad dentists he enjoys going to get his teeth checked. I can't say enough great things about his practice. We do journey from NJ to Brooklyn just to get cleanings/checkups a good dentist is hard to find and one you can trust to be honest and not do unnecessary work is rare. I highly recommend anyone who wants a great dentist with reasonable prices and who actually improves your dental health to give this office a try. You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I have been going to the Dental Spa for almost two years since we moved to the neighborhood, and we couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism. The Dental Spa is well organized, uses email and text messaging for appointment reminders, and I can't remember having an appointment where I've ever had to wait. They are quick and friendly, and as a practice perform to the highest standard. Our hygienists (usually Olga) are thorough, and Dr. Frank is always present at every cleaning to make sure there are no lingering or new issues. More than anything, we appreciate Dr. Frank's kindness and sense of humor (in addition to his solid knowledge of his field). I think that The Dental Spa realizes that no one really likes the dentist or looks forward to a cleaning or fillings, and so they are careful to make you feel at home and comfortable. This is probably the best experience I've ever had with a dentist, and I've had about ten of them in my lifetime. Keep up the great work, and thanks for taking good care of our teeth!

Avoid. They might be ok for a cleaning but steer clear for any major dental work-the incompetence is unbelievable. I had a crown put on five years ago, mind you the procedure was agonizing because I was not given adequate Novocain, and yelled at because I was in pain. A couple months after I got the crown I noticed a black spot on the tooth and went back in to have it assessed. Dr. Sapienza said it was not a cavity, but the glue holding the crown. (I’ve subsequently learned that there is absolutely no way for him to know something like that without removing the crown) The tooth hurt constantly and I was unable to bite on that side and I just thought this is what it is like when you have a crown. When I went back for my cleaning recently, Dr. Sapienza said the crown had to be replaced because it was worn down. This is extremely unusual as a crown is supposed to last way longer. So I finally went to have a second opinion. Turns out there was a hole in the crown which obviously was there from the start, and through that hole, a giant cavity had formed in the tooth. No wonder I had been in so much pain. I’m just fortunate that all that was needed was a competent dentist to clean out the cavity and replace the crown (with adequate anesthesia.)
