Nestled in the historic heart of Manhattan's Chinatown at 2 Mott Street, Ivy X. Wang, DDS, represents a pinnacle of personalized, culturally attentive dental care in New York City. This practice is far more than a dental office; it is a community health pillar, a bridge between Eastern and Western healthcare philosophies, and a sanctuary for patients seeking exceptional dentistry delivered with profound empathy and technical mastery. Dr. Ivy X. Wang has cultivated a practice that stands apart through its unwavering commitment to a patient-first philosophy, where every treatment plan is as unique as the individual in the chair, and where anxiety is replaced with comfort and understanding.

The history of the practice is deeply intertwined with Dr. Wang's personal mission to serve the diverse population of Lower Manhattan. Recognizing a need for high-quality dental care that was accessible and sensitive to the linguistic and cultural nuances of the community, particularly the large Asian-American population, Dr. Wang established her practice with a clear vision. She aimed to create a practice that demystifies dentistry, eliminates the fear often associated with dental visits, and provides world-class care in a warm, welcoming environment. Over the years, this vision has attracted a loyal patient base not only from Chinatown and the surrounding neighborhoods but from across the tri-state area, drawn by her reputation for excellence and compassionate care.

The mission of Ivy X. Wang, DDS, is rooted in holistic wellness. Dr. Wang believes that oral health is inextricably linked to overall systemic health and personal confidence. Her mission is to empower her patients through education, providing them with the knowledge and options to make informed decisions about their oral healthcare. The practice's core values emphasize integrity, transparency, and the use of evidence-based, state-of-the-art techniques to achieve optimal, long-lasting results.

What truly sets this practice apart is its unique value proposition centered on culturally competent care and painless dentistry. Dr. Wang and her team are fluent in Mandarin and English, ensuring clear communication and eliminating the barriers that can lead to misunderstandings about treatment. The office atmosphere is deliberately calm and spa-like, designed to soothe patient anxiety from the moment they enter. Dr. Wang is renowned for her gentle touch and her expertise in managing patients with dental phobias, utilizing a range of sedation options and a compassionate chairside manner that puts even the most nervous patients at ease.

Expertise at the practice spans the full spectrum of general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry, with a particular focus on complex full-mouth rehabilitation and aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Wang leverages advanced technology, including digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and modern CAD/CAM systems for same-day crowns, to enhance diagnostic accuracy, patient comfort, and treatment efficiency. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures that restorations are not only functionally sound but also aesthetically flawless, blending seamlessly with natural dentition.

Ultimately, Ivy X. Wang, DDS, is a distinguished practice because it successfully marries the highest standards of clinical dentistry with the art of personalized patient care. The dentist was nice but she was a little careless with her cleaning and poked my gums a few times. The staff is a bit incompetent. I was at the office in January and went through imaging yet they could not find me in the system. I filled out all that paperwork but apparently they couldn't find it. The woman on the phone insisted I never came to their office. Guess I have to find a new dentist. What a waste of time

Do not go here. I used to have a nice experience until Covid happened with the original staff and after that, the service went downhill. First 2 times I came back after Covid I left with painful gums that bled later on at night when I brushed my teeth because the person who cleaned my teeth did a haphazard job and wasn't focused on cleaning my teeth nor was she even looking half the time leading to her poking at all parts of my gums. Today I had my usual every 6 months cleaning done and the lady chipped my dental composite I had done at NYU. She suddenly began asking me if I had a composite done and if I spent money on it. Dr. Wang also took a look after and told me there was nothing wrong when there is obviously a missing piece from my front tooth. The doctor that did the composite at NYU is also a plastic surgeon and did the composite for me 1.5 years ago and there has been no issue with it until my teeth were cleaned today and now I have to take time out of my schedule to visit NYU and pay for my composite to be fixed. They refuse to take responsibilty and had the nerve to lowkey insult a doctor that was responsible for my braces, headgears, and jaw surgery aftercare. I will never go back to this dentist for my teeth cleaning and I would strongly advise against going here for anything.

Made an appointment twice and both times was turned away. First because of some insurance issue and then they claimed I didn’t have an appointment despite my having received a confirmation call days beforehand. Don’t waste your time. Plenty of other good dentist offices nearby.

The receptionist was extremely rude; she wouldn't answer a few questions. This is how all Chinese people are treated; it's absurd that she claims Chinese people are united and don't discriminate against foreigners.
