Dorn, DDS, represents a longstanding beacon of personalized, high-quality oral healthcare. For over three decades, Dr. Dorn has cultivated a practice built not on corporate dentistry models but on the foundational principles of trust, clinical excellence, and deep, lasting relationships with patients and families. Located at 118 E 19th St, this practice is more than a dental office; it is a community institution where generations of New Yorkers have received compassionate, comprehensive care in a warm and reassuring environment.

The history of the practice is intrinsically tied to Dr. Dorn's own professional journey and commitment to the neighborhood. Establishing his practice in this prime location, Dr. Dorn dedicated himself to serving the diverse residents of downtown Manhattan—from young professionals and families to long-time locals and seniors. His mission has consistently been to provide dentistry of the highest standard while treating each patient with the utmost respect, kindness, and attention to detail. This patient-first philosophy rejects the assembly-line approach, ensuring every visit is tailored to individual needs, concerns, and comfort levels.

Dr. Dorn's expertise encompasses the full spectrum of general and restorative dentistry, with a particular emphasis on precision and longevity. The practice is renowned for its meticulous approach to foundational dental health, focusing on preventive care, precise diagnoses, and conservative treatments that preserve natural tooth structure. Services range from routine cleanings and examinations, utilizing advanced digital X-rays for minimal radiation exposure, to complex restorative work including high-quality crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and dentures. A significant pillar of the practice is its expertise in cosmetic dentistry, where Dr. Dorn's artistic eye and technical skill combine to create beautiful, natural-looking smiles through procedures like porcelain veneers, tooth-colored fillings, and professional whitening, always with a conservative and ethical approach.

What truly sets Dr. Mark P. Dorn's practice apart is its unique value proposition centered on continuity of care, unparalleled personal attention, and a deeply human touch in an often-impersonal city. In an era of rapidly consolidating dental groups, this remains a firmly established, doctor-owned practice where patients see the same trusted dentist at every visit. This allows for profound familiarity with each patient's unique dental history, overall health, and personal preferences. The atmosphere in the office is deliberately calm, professional, and non-clinical, designed to alleviate the anxiety many associate with dental visits. Dr. Dorn is known for his exceptional patience, taking all the time necessary to explain conditions and options thoroughly, answer every question, and involve patients fully in their treatment planning.

The practice's longevity and stellar reputation are testaments to Dr. Dorn's unwavering commitment to his craft and his community. He has invested in ongoing education and judiciously incorporates modern technology, but never at the expense of the personalized, hands-on care that defines the experience. His dedication extends beyond the treatment chair, as evidenced by his long-term involvement in local organizations and his support of community events. For patients, this translates into a dental home where they are known by name, where care is consistent and predictable, and where the highest ethical standards are non-negotiable. It is a practice built on the belief that exceptional dentistry is both a science and an art, delivered with compassion and integrity. In the heart of New York City, Dr. Mark P. Dr Dorn is a great dentist. Ive been a patient at this practice for over 10 years. Dr Dorn is professional, has never pushed for unnecessary procedures, and the office runs efficiently. I highly recommend.

This is a great dental service place. Very family oriented, I was recommended by a co-worker and now I'm sending all my friends and family here.

Excellent front desk staff and customer service. Low stars because the dentist botched my crown placement. It was very sloppy, and wound up having cracks and a small hole. Instead of replacing it, the recommendation was for me to have "route canal". I'm seeing another dentist. And I have to have the crown redone. So... nice people, but not good dental care.

Both I and my husband have been seeing this dentist for over 10 years and didn't have problems until recently. My husband was charged for a routine cleaning $110 copay. This was questioned, but they claimed it was the deductible. When my husband checked with the insurance and it turns out for cleaning there is no deductible. Further more, the office never put a claim with the insurance either. We questioned the billing staff only to receive no accurate clarification for $110charge. The office claimed it was a more in-depth cleaning. This raises one big concern with the regular cleaning which must not be done thoroughly and therefore one would need to have a more in depth cleaning at one point or perhaps some procedure which of course would increase the cost of the visit. Either was seemed to me the financial practices of this office are totally unethical and we are put in the position of finding a new dentist.

He placed a bridge over a large hole in my gum that had not healed a few years ago. He denied there was a problem but I found out that I could have had a serious sinus infection had it not been repaired. I had to have oral surgery and replace the bridge by another dentist.
