About

The Museum of Nostalgia, located at 31-27 31st St, Astoria, NY 11106, is a unique blend of a vintage toy museum and a classic toy thrift store. This captivating destination was born out of the passion of toy collectors Phebe and Jeff, who sought to share their extensive collection with the public while also making space in their crowded New York City apartment. The museum's history is deeply rooted in the collectors' personal journey, as they amassed a wide array of toys and vintage items, particularly from the 1970s, 1980s, and beyond. Their mission is to create an immersive experience that transports visitors back in time, allowing them to relive fond memories and discover new ones. By combining a love for collecting with a desire to share that passion, the Museum of Nostalgia offers a truly unique space where nostalgia meets curiosity. The museum's expertise lies in curating a diverse collection of vintage toys, board games, television trays, lunch boxes, and other nostalgic items, making it a go-to destination for those seeking a trip down memory lane. What sets this business apart is its ability to merge the educational aspect of a museum with the excitement of a thrift store, providing an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. Really good prices, lots of nostalgia 80's toys! Hard to find grails available too. Can't wait to visit my family in Queens again to go back!

One of the coolest places in New York City. I'm a sucker for trinkets, toys, and nostalgic items. This place is a goldmine. The museum section, albeit small, is really cool. I felt like I took a trip back to an era I wasn't even alive for. The store section has a lot of hidden gems and I walked away with some really cool things. The workers were really nice too. I'll absolutely be going back. Check this out!

Clearly a labor of love as much as a place where you can look at things and also buy them. Growing and always changing selection of used toys from the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. There is a shop portion and a museum-like vitrine that represents an homage to the 1980’s world. Knowledgeable staff, good selection, free video games, and passion for miles and miles. Go there.

I came to visit my family in Astoria, Queens, NYC, and this store is one of the places I wanted to visit. From the airport, I went to a pizzeria place for a NY slice of Pizza and then straight to here. It did not disappoint! I felt like I was transported back in time to my childhood. Toys I always wished I could have and some that i did and somehow got misplaced throughout the years. Every cartoon I ever watched.... they had a toy from it. I absolutely LOVE this store. As I am flying through spirit I only have a personal bag. This christmas holiday, I am bringing my son and girlfriend on Southwest so we are able to bring luggage to fill with their amazing selection. Their items are also reasonably priced. Like so much cheaper than selling sites and stores similar to these in Nashville. The owners are so nice, patient, informative and really seem to love what they do. Do yourself a favor and visit this store! You'll be so glad you did
