About

Central Park Dentistry Pediatric Dental Care, located at 30 Central Park S #2C, New York, NY 10019, stands as a premier destination for pediatric dental excellence in the heart of Manhattan. Specializing in comprehensive care for children from infancy through adolescence, this practice is led by board-certified pediatric dentists, including Dr. Elizabeth Mato, DDS, who brings specialized expertise to foster lifelong healthy smiles. Dr. Mato, certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at NYU College of Dentistry and her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Brookdale Family Care Center, equipping her with advanced skills in child psychology, behavior management, sedation techniques, and treatment for special needs patients[5]. The practice embodies a patient-centered philosophy, emphasizing prevention-focused dentistry to educate and empower families in building strong oral health habits from an early age.

While specific historical founding details are not publicly detailed, the practice has established itself as a trusted name in New York City's competitive pediatric dental landscape, drawing on the pedigreed training of its providers who hold affiliations with prestigious institutions like NYU. Dr. Mato's NPI number, 1588233423, underscores her professional standing, and her approach integrates thorough reviews of each child's dental history and concerns to tailor personalized treatment plans[5]. This commitment to individualized care sets Central Park Dentistry Pediatric Dental Care apart, creating a comforting, engaging environment where children associate dental visits with positive experiences rather than anxiety.

The mission of the practice is clear: to deliver gentle, precise care that addresses the unique developmental needs of growing smiles. Services encompass a full spectrum of pediatric dentistry, including preventive care such as cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments; restorative procedures like fillings and extractions; emergency care for traumatic dental injuries; orthodontic evaluations for braces and early alignment interventions; and specialized offerings like sedation dentistry (nitrous oxide, oral sedation, general anesthesia), special needs dentistry, and custom mouthguards[1][5]. This holistic approach ensures that whether it's a first dental visit, routine checkup, or complex procedure, children receive proactive, compassionate treatment designed to minimize school absences due to dental issues—estimated at 51 million hours annually for U.S. youth[3].

What truly distinguishes Central Park Dentistry Pediatric Dental Care is its unwavering focus on prevention and education. Providers go beyond clinical interventions to offer nutritional guidance, advice on harmful oral habits, and tools for effective brushing and flossing routines, empowering parents to maintain optimal oral health at home[1][3]. The team's sensitivity to child development, including bite assessment, jaw alignment, and growth monitoring, positions them as experts in interceptive orthodontics and early intervention for misaligned teeth[1]. Patient testimonials highlight the 'personable, dynamic, and dedicated' nature of the care, with families praising the comfortable visits and informative sessions that make dentistry fun[1]. Unlike general practices, this pediatric specialist office mimics the pediatrician model—dedicated exclusively to children's needs, with advanced training in managing anxious or special needs patients[1][5].

In a city bustling with dental options, Central Park Dentistry Pediatric Dental Care shines through its central location, state-of-the-art sedation capabilities, and faculty-level expertise (e.g., affiliations like NYU), ensuring accessibility and cutting-edge care[1]. The practice's unique value proposition lies in transforming routine dental care into rewarding journeys that build confidence and compliance, reducing future complexities and costs. By prioritizing positive first impressions—much like a child's inaugural pediatrician visit—the team cultivates generations of patients who value their smiles. With a warm, engaging office ambiance and a roster of services tailored to every stage of childhood, this practice not only treats but nurtures, setting a gold standard for pediatric dentistry in New York. Families entrust their little ones here knowing that healthy, bright smiles—and the habits to sustain them—begin with compassionate, expert care right in Central Park's vicinity.

She is incredibly personable, thorough, and genuinely empathetic, qualities that make all the difference, especially when it comes to caring for children. She takes the time to explain everything and makes my daughter and son feel comfortable and understood at every visit. We live almost an hour away on Long Island, yet we happily travel all the way to Central Park just to see her. That alone says everything about the level of care she provides. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any parent looking for a dentist who truly goes above and beyond.

We’ve been visiting this pediatric dental office for a while now, and every experience has been outstanding. The dentist is always very nice, professional, and takes the time to explain everything to both me and my son. They’ve encouraged him to improve his oral hygiene, which has made a big difference. The staff at the reception are equally amazing—always friendly and accommodating, especially when it comes to our scheduling needs. Highly recommended for parents looking for a reliable and caring dental practice for their kids!

The service is great here and the team even better. I brought my God daughter here to get her cleaning and Dr. Stephanie sang her songs while she brushed her teeth and now she sings the same song every time she brushes her own teeth. She is so sweet and very patient I highly recommend bringing your kids here. Your kids will walk out with bright smiles and a toy from the treasure chest, but u can’t forget about the balloons. They really know how to win a kid over! Love this pediatrics office.

This is our first time at Central Park Dentistry with doctor Yasmin Tontat and she was amazing. The entire staff was helpful, informative and very pleasant. My daughter's appointment went smoothly and she got everything she needed done. I would definitely recommend this office. Thank you again. 😊

The office wasn’t checking the insurance properly and confirmed twice with me on the phone the cost would be covered by the insurance. It turned out it’s out of network and the counter told us after we arrived that they would have to charge me $400 for my son’s check up and I need to get reimbursed from my insurance. It was wasting our time to get there and wish they had let us know ahead of the time about the insurance. They said they didn’t work with a lot of insurance companies. Be aware. It is fine not able to see us due to the insurance coverage but please let patients know in advance by phone or text so we are not taking kids out of school early to make the appointment and find out when we arrive it's just waste of our time.
