I chose Dr. Carroll after reading the 5-star reviews for this office and seeing there was no poor reviews of them just out to make money, which was my biggest concern. Unless you know you can trust them, it is difficult to know if dentists are doing a service you don't really need just so they get more business. My husband and I recently elected not to get dental insurance since our teeth are in good health making the high premiums not worth it. Prior to my appointment I asked the office how much my cleaning would cost and was quoted $105 including the $30 fluoride treatment. After the cleaning was done the hygienist had Dr. Carroll come in for the exam portion which took all of 3 minutes, in which he told me I should schedule an appointment for him to replace two fillings and check out a couple other teeth, despite the hygienist saying everything looked good and me not reporting any sensitivity or other issues. When I went to pay the bill they had charged me an additional $70 for the "comprehensive dental exam" bringing my bill to $175. I said I wasn't quoted for that and that I thought I was only there for a cleaning. They claimed they were required by law to have an exam on file and since I hadn't had one yet (I had been there 3 times prior) they needed to do it. After expressing my problem with this surprise charge the cashier went to ask Dr. Carroll if I still had to be charged and came back and said I still had to pay it. I don't know why they were ok with not complying with "the law" and not having this exam done on me earlier when I did have insurance and I was disappointed that they wouldn't make an exception now that I didn't have insurance. Needless to say, I no longer trust this dental office and have no confidence I need the services Dr. Carroll advises I get and I will not be returning to this office. On a positive note, the ladies that work at the front desk are very nice and the hygienist, Jenny, is highly-skilled and my cleanings with her have been pain-free.

The ladies at the front desk are great, super nice and helpful... the people in the back though I can't say the same about. They seem to love to let you come there and then after that first visit suddenly they can't do anything because it's against the law for them to fix your teeth until they have some kind of comprehensive exam. Which is really just a way for them to charge you their exam fee and xray fees... I have no issues with anyone but when trying to talk some sense into a dentist it would help if their language skills were enough for them to be understandable. Never going back, I don't suggest anyone ever go here, in fact I implore you not to.
