About

Concerned Dental Care - Midtown stands as a beacon of exceptional oral health in the heart of New York City, embodying a patient-centric philosophy that has defined its practice for decades. Located at 30 E 40th St, just steps from Grand Central Terminal and the iconic New York Public Library, this established practice has built a reputation not merely as a dental office, but as a trusted healthcare partner for individuals, families, and professionals throughout Manhattan and beyond. The practice was founded on a simple yet profound principle: to provide dental care with genuine concern, transparent communication, and clinical excellence, thereby transforming the often-anxiety-inducing dental visit into a comfortable, positive, and educational experience. This foundational mission continues to guide every interaction, procedure, and service offered.

The history of Concerned Dental Care is interwoven with a commitment to staying at the forefront of dental technology and techniques. Over many years of service, the practice has evolved from a traditional dental clinic into a comprehensive, state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment tools. This includes digital X-rays for significantly reduced radiation exposure, intraoral cameras that allow patients to see precisely what the dentist sees, and advanced CAD/CAM technology for same-day crowns and restorations. This investment in technology is not for its own sake, but is seamlessly integrated into a holistic approach to care that prioritizes accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive treatments, and long-term preventative health.

What truly sets Concerned Dental Care - Midtown apart is its unwavering dedication to patient comfort and individualized care. The team understands that dental anxiety is a very real concern for many. From the warm, calming demeanor of the front desk staff to the meticulous, gentle approach of the clinical team, every aspect of the patient journey is designed to alleviate stress. The practice is renowned for its 'no-pressure' philosophy, taking ample time to discuss findings, explain all treatment options in clear, understandable language, and answer every question a patient may have. This fosters a collaborative environment where patients are active, informed participants in their own oral health decisions, rather than passive recipients of care.

The expertise housed within this practice is extensive. The dentists are highly experienced, skilled professionals who engage in continuous education to master the latest advancements in general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry. Their collective expertise encompasses a wide spectrum, from routine hygiene and diagnostics to complex full-mouth rehabilitations, dental implant placement and restoration, advanced periodontal care, and sophisticated cosmetic makeovers. This broad capability ensures that patients can receive consistent, coordinated care under one roof, building a long-term relationship with a team that understands their complete dental history and overall health goals.

The unique value proposition of Concerned Dental Care is a powerful combination of elite dental expertise delivered with uncommon empathy, convenience, and transparency. In a city known for fast-paced, impersonal service, this practice is a notable exception. They respect their patients' time with efficient scheduling, yet never rush an appointment. They are deeply concerned with the financial aspect of care, working diligently with patients to maximize insurance benefits and provide clear, upfront cost estimates. The office environment itself is modern, clean, and designed to feel more like a serene lounge than a clinical setting, further distinguishing it from typical dental offices.

Ultimately, Concerned Dental Care - Midtown has cultivated a legacy defined by trust. They have built this trust by consistently demonstrating that their primary concern is the health, comfort, and satisfaction of the person in the dental chair. This patient-first ethos, backed by cutting-edge technology and broad clinical proficiency, makes them a distinguished leader in New York City's dental landscape. They are not just treating teeth; they are caring for people, fostering relationships that last for generations, and helping patients achieve and maintain healthy, beautiful smiles that contribute to their overall confidence and well-being. I have been a patient for years and saw a new hygienist. I believe her name was Erica. I had a deep cleaning and she was kind, gentle, professional, and made me feel at ease. The front desk registration and billing staff are always wonderful! Thank you all for the excellent care!

I was very impressed that they scheduled an emergency visit for me the next day. I though I had a loose cap (you know, just re-cement and send me on my way.) They took a full set of X-Rays, and was able to tell me within one hour the status of every tooth in my mouth. It turns out that my cap was not loose, rather my whole tooth was rotted out. I switched rooms, and had the tooth completely removed, cleaned, and stitched within 2 hours. I got a call from CVS about an hour later to pick up my antibiotic prescription. Extreme care was taken in my case because I had open heart surgery with aorta valve replacement about 4 months ago. They were fully aware of the precautions needed, and I can't thank them enough for their compassion. The next day (today), I am virtually pain free (no pain medicine taken), which tells me they did their job with a high level of knowledge, professionalism and cleanliness. Don't waste time shopping around.... they will definitely take care of you I'm sure! Bob S. (Ronkonkoma)

I would of given at least 4 stars. However, when I called to retrieve information with my dental insurance provider I had a horrible experience with the dental receptionist Estrella. I first asked Do you mind if I put my dental insurance representative on the phone as well. She said “okay.” When I merged the call she had us on hold. 2 minutes later she came back.thanking us. I asked her if she could tell me what the dentist requested that I needed in order to receive treatment. I told her I spoke with someone earlier when I tried to make an appointment to see the periodontist .I was then told what was needed for any work to be done.she responded that I didn’t need to see the periodontist for another six months. I then told her” I was told before to make an appointment to get my gums cleaned. However, that’s okay . Could you please just tell me what the last entries on my chart states that I need to receive any type of treatment. I spoke to someone earlier. Who told me I couldn’t get any treatment until this matter was addressed. I have my insurance provider on the phone so you can tell him. She refused to look at the chart. Instead she kept repeating I didn’t need to see the periodontist for at least six months. I pleaded with her stating “ Mam Could you please read the last entries of my chart and tell this man what I need or else I will not be able to receive any type of treatment “. She consistently spoke over me. Stating the same thing. Then she said” you have to be quiet and let me talk “. Silence. She said the exact same thing again . At this time the dental insurance representative ask her for the same information I requested. After a pause. She then told him what was needed. The worst telephone etiquette ever. Also in the mist of our conversation she refuse to give her name. She finally gave it, after I asked her approximately four times.

I’d been a patient there for several years. The wait was always a little too long. The service was decent, but no one there stands out as having a great bedside manner. On my last visit I had a root canal, which I was told was covered under my insurance. After the root canal I was told of several required follow up visits, which were not covered and needed to be completed within 2 weeks. The receptionist told me this as she was asking me my preferred return appointment dates. I later called for clarification from another staff member, hoping the receptionist was mistaken. During this call I spoke with the office manager who then informed me that my root canal was not covered and I owed $900!!! I was ill informed of what was needed to complete the service and complained about such. There were several more verbal contacts which are too long to state. The short version is that the office manager sent me a letter stating me and my family were no longer welcomed patients. Two days later I received a letter from a different staff member requesting I call the office and schedule appointments for me and my family. The staff is thorough and friendly, but that office manager is unprofessional and unfriendly. As long as I’ve been going there I’ve never seen her smile. I called the office to make an appointment for my son and was told there is a lock on me and my family’s file, no appointments can be made.

From my very first appointment, I realized that the individuals working at the office are incompetent and lacked respect for their customers. For every single appointment, that I went to I had to wait over one hour to see a hygienist or even get x-rays done and most of the time I am okay waiting, as long as I get the service that I made the appointment for. However, this was not the case when I had scheduled a regular cleaning after my deep cleaning. The receptionist making my appointment wanted to schedule me for a 3 months check, which she informed me that they would charge me directly for because my insurance does not cover it. I specifically told her I do not want the 3 months check up, that I would rather do the 6 months regular check up covered by my insurance. To this, she replied that I was already due for my six months and proceeded to schedule me for an appointment. Once I arrived for this appointment, the receptionist asked for a $95, stating that this a 3 months cleaning. I told her that I am due for my 6 month cleaning, to this she replied that they start counting the days from the day of the deep cleaning. My complaint is not that they asked me for money; it is that they wasted my time and misinformed me. I always make my appointments after work and to carve out time is especially hard for me due to other priorities. I am upset that they did not inform me of how they counted the days before hand or at least should have scheduled that appointment 6 months after my deep cleaning when I specifically asked her to. In addition, the fact that they make customers wait so long for services is ridiculous. The employees at this office are not trained well on how insurance charges or how to inform customers or how to respect them for that matter.
