I have been a patient for years and saw a new hygienist. I believe her name was Erica. I had a deep cleaning and she was kind, gentle, professional, and made me feel at ease. The front desk registration and billing staff are always wonderful! Thank you all for the excellent care!
I was very impressed that they scheduled an emergency visit for me the next day. I though I had a loose cap (you know, just re-cement and send me on my way.) They took a full set of X-Rays, and was able to tell me within one hour the status of every tooth in my mouth. It turns out that my cap was not loose, rather my whole tooth was rotted out. I switched rooms, and had the tooth completely removed, cleaned, and stitched within 2 hours. I got a call from CVS about an hour later to pick up my antibiotic prescription. Extreme care was taken in my case because I had open heart surgery with aorta valve replacement about 4 months ago. They were fully aware of the precautions needed, and I can't thank them enough for their compassion. The next day (today), I am virtually pain free (no pain medicine taken), which tells me they did their job with a high level of knowledge, professionalism and cleanliness. Don't waste time shopping around.... they will definitely take care of you I'm sure! Bob S. (Ronkonkoma)
I would of given at least 4 stars. However, when I called to retrieve information with my dental insurance provider I had a horrible experience with the dental receptionist Estrella. I first asked Do you mind if I put my dental insurance representative on the phone as well. She said “okay.” When I merged the call she had us on hold. 2 minutes later she came back.thanking us. I asked her if she could tell me what the dentist requested that I needed in order to receive treatment. I told her I spoke with someone earlier when I tried to make an appointment to see the periodontist .I was then told what was needed for any work to be done.she responded that I didn’t need to see the periodontist for another six months. I then told her” I was told before to make an appointment to get my gums cleaned. However, that’s okay . Could you please just tell me what the last entries on my chart states that I need to receive any type of treatment. I spoke to someone earlier. Who told me I couldn’t get any treatment until this matter was addressed. I have my insurance provider on the phone so you can tell him. She refused to look at the chart. Instead she kept repeating I didn’t need to see the periodontist for at least six months. I pleaded with her stating “ Mam Could you please read the last entries of my chart and tell this man what I need or else I will not be able to receive any type of treatment “. She consistently spoke over me. Stating the same thing. Then she said” you have to be quiet and let me talk “. Silence. She said the exact same thing again . At this time the dental insurance representative ask her for the same information I requested. After a pause. She then told him what was needed. The worst telephone etiquette ever. Also in the mist of our conversation she refuse to give her name. She finally gave it, after I asked her approximately four times.
I’d been a patient there for several years. The wait was always a little too long. The service was decent, but no one there stands out as having a great bedside manner. On my last visit I had a root canal, which I was told was covered under my insurance. After the root canal I was told of several required follow up visits, which were not covered and needed to be completed within 2 weeks. The receptionist told me this as she was asking me my preferred return appointment dates. I later called for clarification from another staff member, hoping the receptionist was mistaken. During this call I spoke with the office manager who then informed me that my root canal was not covered and I owed $900!!! I was ill informed of what was needed to complete the service and complained about such. There were several more verbal contacts which are too long to state. The short version is that the office manager sent me a letter stating me and my family were no longer welcomed patients. Two days later I received a letter from a different staff member requesting I call the office and schedule appointments for me and my family. The staff is thorough and friendly, but that office manager is unprofessional and unfriendly. As long as I’ve been going there I’ve never seen her smile. I called the office to make an appointment for my son and was told there is a lock on me and my family’s file, no appointments can be made.
From my very first appointment, I realized that the individuals working at the office are incompetent and lacked respect for their customers. For every single appointment, that I went to I had to wait over one hour to see a hygienist or even get x-rays done and most of the time I am okay waiting, as long as I get the service that I made the appointment for. However, this was not the case when I had scheduled a regular cleaning after my deep cleaning. The receptionist making my appointment wanted to schedule me for a 3 months check, which she informed me that they would charge me directly for because my insurance does not cover it. I specifically told her I do not want the 3 months check up, that I would rather do the 6 months regular check up covered by my insurance. To this, she replied that I was already due for my six months and proceeded to schedule me for an appointment. Once I arrived for this appointment, the receptionist asked for a $95, stating that this a 3 months cleaning. I told her that I am due for my 6 month cleaning, to this she replied that they start counting the days from the day of the deep cleaning. My complaint is not that they asked me for money; it is that they wasted my time and misinformed me. I always make my appointments after work and to carve out time is especially hard for me due to other priorities. I am upset that they did not inform me of how they counted the days before hand or at least should have scheduled that appointment 6 months after my deep cleaning when I specifically asked her to. In addition, the fact that they make customers wait so long for services is ridiculous. The employees at this office are not trained well on how insurance charges or how to inform customers or how to respect them for that matter.
