About

Dental Oral Surgery, operating as part of Manhattan Oral Facial Surgery LLC at 3915 Broadway #2, New York, NY 10032, stands as a cornerstone in oral and maxillofacial care within the vibrant Washington Heights community and beyond. This multi-location practice has established itself as a patient-focused leader in full-scope oral surgery, delivering comprehensive services with a commitment to excellence that spans dental alveolar extractions, advanced reconstructive procedures, and life-changing treatments for facial trauma and jaw deformities. While specific founding dates remain elusive in available records, the practice's presence is noted in business directories since at least 2016, reflecting steady growth into a network of 11 convenient locations across New York City, Bronx, Queens, Poughkeepsie, and surrounding areas, all united by a mission to render top-quality surgical care in compassionate, friendly environments.[1][2][5][6]

At the heart of Dental Oral Surgery's ethos is a profound dedication to community service, encapsulated in their pledge to serve diverse populations, including those without insurance or facing emergencies. They proudly accept almost all insurance plans, accommodate walk-ins alongside appointments, and maintain 24/7 representative availability, ensuring accessibility seven days a week. This approach democratizes high-level oral healthcare, making it available to 'anyone who shows up first,' as noted by appreciative patients who value the practice's willingness to address urgent needs despite occasional waits.[1][5][6] Their state-of-the-art facilities prioritize cleanliness and comfort, fostering trust and easing anxieties often associated with surgical interventions.

The breadth of services offered underscores their expertise as a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. Core procedures include dental alveolar extractions and wisdom tooth removals, essential for alleviating pain and preventing complications. They excel in endodontic surgeries like apicoectomies to save infected teeth, orthodontic exposures and bonding to facilitate braces treatment, frenectomies to correct restrictive tissue bands, and diagnostic biopsies for pathology evaluation. For complex cases, the team manages facial trauma reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery to address malocclusions and functional issues, and diagnoses facial pain alongside TMJ disorders. A hallmark of their proficiency lies in implant dentistry, encompassing full-range dental implant placements and bone grafting to restore function and aesthetics.[5][6]

What truly distinguishes Dental Oral Surgery is the caliber of its surgical team. Practitioners, including Dr. Brian H. Sybo, DDS, have earned distinguished degrees from accredited programs and hold licenses in dentistry, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Many boast hospital privileges, fellowship training, and dual qualifications as medical doctors, enabling seamless handling of intricate cases that bridge dental and medical realms. Their commitment to academia—teaching in educational settings and pursuing continuous education—ensures they remain at the vanguard of innovations in oral surgery. This blend of credentials translates to superior outcomes, whether performing routine extractions or transformative reconstructions.[3][5][6]

In an industry crowded with specialists, Dental Oral Surgery sets itself apart through its unique value proposition: unparalleled accessibility fused with elite expertise. Unlike boutique practices that may turn away uninsured patients or limit hours, this group embraces walk-ins, emergencies, and broad insurance coverage, all while upholding rigorous standards in modern facilities. Patient testimonials highlight their problem-solving tenacity, such as navigating dental savings plans to secure in-network status, though experiences vary with reports of long waits and service inconsistencies prompting a Better Business Bureau F rating due to unresolved complaints.[1][2] Nevertheless, their multi-disciplinary approach, from simple biopsies to full jaw corrections, positions them as a one-stop hub for oral health crises and electives alike.

Looking ahead, Dental Oral Surgery continues to evolve, prioritizing patient satisfaction through compassionate staff interactions and cutting-edge techniques. Whether you're a local seeking wisdom teeth removal or someone requiring TMJ therapy, this practice offers not just procedures, but a pathway to renewed confidence and well-being. Their mantra—best surgical care in a welcoming space—resonates deeply, making them an indispensable asset to New York's oral health landscape. With ongoing expansions and a focus on education-driven excellence, Dental Oral Surgery is poised to lead for years to come, proving that true distinction lies in serving every smile with equity and precision.[1][5][6] (Word count: 728)

I was able to book an appointment online the same day. I had very little wait time and the staff was courteous. The surgeon did an exceptional job as I chose to forego the anesthesia and was awake during the procedure. Aside from the obvious pressure that would be felt in such a procedure, I did not experience any discomfort.

I will say honestly, I don’t like doctors, dentist, or anything in the medical fields, and it’s not easy for me to trust but here at Dental Oral Surgery I was pleasantly surprised. I entered a facility where I was encouraged to be at ease immediately with gentle beautiful music. They were kind, gentle, professional and patient. They were quick too. Usually you can’t get the above services along with quick. Quick did not mean pushy/annoyed/attitude but they displayed TLC (tender loving care), every single one of them, from the secretaries to the technicians. Since my needs require females only touch me, it was fantastic not to have to compromise my extra-needs-beliefs, respectfully. I would/will recommend them to anyone/everyone I know. I’m glad to have found such a place🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

It's a long wait to connect on the phone so you're better off making your appointment online. It's even a longer wait the day of, in a tiny waiting area. BUT the staff is courteous, friendly and professional. The office is clean, quiet and comfortable. The dentists and assistants are caring & patient. Both of my surgeries were done quickly and efficiently, and I recovered well.

This is a really good place with professionals! My healing time is fast and smooth which is a result of the surgery. However the waiting time is kinda ridiculous. My appointment was at 10am and I ended up being attended at 12pm. I bet there’s others with worse timing than mine. This was my second time going and it’s the same thing with the waiting time. Since the waiting space is also very small why can’t they do appointment with a big gap in between them so that way there’s no delays or little to no space while waiting?

The entire office is the definition of poor service. The wait area is packed with barely any seating. When I went for the 1st visit to get xrays and discuss the procedure, I literally spoke to the doctor MAYBE 90 seconds. "We just slice the gums, clean out the infection and thats it". THAT WAS NOT IT. The nonchalant attitude made me believe that the procedure wasnt that serious. When the day came for the procedure, I was put to sleep. I wasnt even told I was going to be put to sleep! Surprise! I didnt speak to the doctor prior. I sat in a chair thinking the doctor would come and discuss the details and expectations... NOPE. I just woke up in another chair completely discombobulated and disoriented. Then I was sent on my way, stumbling out of the door bleeding from my mouth with no gauze. I found out later that I was supposed to have gauze packed in my mouth prior to leaving. I didnt. I had NO CLUE that I would have stitches. I had to call the main number and someone explained everything to me. I was never told how long this would take to heal. I learned from Google! There's one lady at the front desk who clearly takes the time to deliver decent customer service. That's it. Just one person. I had low expectations because I know the area and demographic dictates the service level (unfortunately) but this went even lower than my already low expectations. I was not well informed about my procedure AT ALL. It's like a human assembly line. Just in and out with no care about the patients. Choose this place at your own risk.
