Established in 2004, this distinguished practice has become a cornerstone for advanced dental care on the Upper East Side, located at 231 E 106th St, New York, NY 10029. With over two decades of dedicated service, Dr. Brisman has built a reputation for excellence, blending cutting-edge techniques with a profound commitment to patient-centered care. Born into a family legacy of dentistry—as the son and grandson of dentists—Dr. Brisman was destined for this field, approaching every patient with the warmth and attentiveness reserved for family members.[6][8]

Dr. Brisman's educational journey is exemplary, beginning with his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He pursued advanced training through fellowships at Bellevue Hospital Center and NYU College of Dentistry, followed by a rigorous residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Bellevue Hospital Center/NYU Medical Center from 1998 to 2001. Appointed Chief Resident in 2001, he completed his training in 2002, solidifying his expertise in complex surgical procedures.[7][8] Transitioning seamlessly into private practice, he opened Eastside Oral Surgery in 2004, which evolved into BIOS to reflect his specialization in implants and innovative oral surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Brisman has contributed as faculty at NYU College of Dentistry's Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department and as an attending surgeon at Maimonides Medical Center, mentoring the next generation while honing his skills in high-volume clinical settings.[8]

The mission of Brisman Implant and Oral Surgery is to deliver safe, painless, and personalized treatments that restore oral health and enhance quality of life. Dr. Brisman and his bilingual team prioritize comprehensive care for both adults and children, addressing a spectrum of conditions from wisdom teeth extractions to intricate jaw reconstructions. Services encompass dental implants for replacing missing teeth with lifelike, durable solutions; wisdom teeth removal to prevent complications like impaction and infection; orthognathic (jaw) surgery for correcting bite misalignments and facial asymmetries; TMJ disorder treatments to alleviate chronic jaw pain; sleep apnea interventions; and management of oral pathology. The practice excels in minimally invasive techniques, ensuring quicker recoveries and minimal discomfort, setting a gold standard in patient outcomes.[6][3]

What truly distinguishes BIOS is Dr. Brisman's unique value proposition: a fusion of elite training, familial compassion, and technological prowess. Patients rave about his exceptional bedside manner (rated 4.2/5 on Zocdoc), attentive listening, and ability to make even daunting procedures feel reassuring—evidenced by reviews praising swift, safe wisdom tooth extractions and friendly staff interactions.[1][3] Unlike larger hospitals or impersonal clinics, BIOS offers a boutique experience in a clean, professional environment, with flexible scheduling including Saturdays by appointment. Dr. Brisman's accolades, including 'America’s Top Dentist' from 2005-2010 by the Consumers’ Research Council of America and selection as a Top Doctor in New York by Top Doc New York in 2011, underscore his peer-recognized expertise.[8] His professional memberships in the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, New York State Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and the William F. Harrigan Alumni Association reflect his ongoing dedication to the highest standards.[8]

In an era of cookie-cutter dental care, Brisman Implant and Oral Surgery sets itself apart through hyper-personalized treatment plans, leveraging Dr. Brisman's dual fluency in English and Hebrew, and a holistic approach that considers each patient's unique anatomy, lifestyle, and concerns. Whether treating extensive tooth loss, bite alignment issues, or complex pathologies, the practice achieves transformative results with precision and empathy. Dr. Brisman is a highly skilled dental surgeon. He is able to handle the most complicated situations with teeth, and he has great ability to keep his patients calm. His equipment is excellent, and his nursing staff is very caring. Unusual location for such a high end dental practice, but the trips uptown are well worth it.

I had my Wisdom Tooth removed there today. I have to say this Dental Surgeon is amazing, he was attentive, responsive, explained the procedure in a way that helped me feel comfortable and less nervous, throughout the procedure he would always ask if I felt okay and was doing okay and while removing the tooth he kept comforting and making sure I was feeling good. The procedure was less than 15 min! I am very happy I chose Dr.Brisman for my oral surgery and Elisa the receptionist was exceptionally kind and helpful. I need to get an implant done in the near future and I will not hesitate to choose Dr.Brisman for my procedure! He was and Is excellent!!

Dr. Adam Brisman is a gifted oral surgeon. He does extractions easily and efficiently, you don't have time to get nervous! My implant done by him has been fine for many years. The staff does a great job running this popular practice, and Dr. Brisman is always cordial.

Horrible bedside manner. I came to Adam Brisman for TMJ issues. He literally forcefully opened my mouth with his giant fingers to get me to open my mouth to open more. As a patient with TMJ flareups this is NOT the correct approach. He also made it incredibly difficult for me to get a refund back after I no longer wanted a night guard from his office after still being unable to fully open my mouth and knowing I will be in the wrong hands again. His office staff are also extremely rude and incompetent. They all make a great team because of their lack of manners and compassion towards a patient. Understandably, his office is in a bad section of manhattan, but that should never be a reason anyone should treat a patient so poorly (making it difficult to return their money, charging them a consultation fee when they were told they wouldn't be charged for anything as Dr. Brisman admitted he didn't do anything, not answering numerous emails regarding a simple refund until office staff realize the patient will contact the office of professions to report such behavior). The treatment I received here was by far the worst I have ever received. I was shocked because he has daughters of his own, and a wife from what he shared with me. You would think the man would be like "Take your money Jackie, I'm sorry I couldn't help you. I hope you feel better since I know you're in intense pain for months." No- instead he NEEDED to get something out of it and cause more commotion to my life and get his staff to take 60$ from my original payment lol. Actually pathetic of a person. I went to a new oral surgeon who was amazing in all ways. And his bedside manner was incredible, and yes he ordered me an MRI and went through it with me throughly and carefully something Dr. Brisman refused to do. NEVER AGAIN. But one day someone will treat him with the same disrespect and then he'll understand. Because what comes around goes right back around.

This Doctor is so Rude no professionalism at all. We came here for a wisdom tooth extraction for our son. They said the insurance will pay for X-rays only once every three years and our allocation was used so we had to pay for the X-ray out of pocket which we did. He then scheduled a follow up visit for a CT scan. I later called the insurance and found he submitted the X-ray fee to the insurance (which was approved and paid for) in addition to a $150 consultation fee and $300 fee for imaging that day. On the second visit for he performed the CT scan and then said he is not going to touch it. That was fine if he is not confident to do the procedure. We requested the copy of the CT scan on a USB which required a 3rd visit. On the 3rd visit we requested reimbursement for the X-ray fee from the first visit that we paid out of pocket since they were paid by the insurance. The dentist then became very rude and started lying about the payments. When showed we had proof they were paid by the insurance he told us to leave and threatened to call the police. This dentist takes advantage of poor and uneducated patients and rips them off by falsely billing insurance for services not provided and also asks for direct payment while billing insurance on the back end for additional payment. He billed our insurance for 3 visits but never actually did any dental work. He did not refund our payment. What a shame of his behavior. No morals or principles.
