About

Nestled in the iconic NoMad district of Manhattan at 853 Broadway, Dr. Sameh Aknouk Dental Services PC stands as a beacon of exceptional, patient-centered oral healthcare. This distinguished practice is built upon the foundational principle that a healthy, beautiful smile is integral to overall well-being and confidence. Under the leadership of Dr. Sameh Aknouk, a highly skilled and compassionate prosthodontist, the practice has cultivated a reputation for delivering world-class dental care that seamlessly blends advanced science with artistic precision. The practice's philosophy transcends routine dentistry, focusing instead on comprehensive care that considers each patient's unique anatomy, lifestyle, and aesthetic goals.

The history of the practice is intertwined with Dr. Aknouk's own dedication to mastering the art and science of restorative and cosmetic dentistry. After completing rigorous training and earning his specialty credentials, Dr. Aknouk established his practice to fill a need for specialized, high-touch dental care in New York City. His mission is clear: to provide predictable, long-lasting, and biologically sound dental solutions that restore both function and form. The practice operates with a commitment to integrity, transparency, and a collaborative approach, ensuring patients are fully informed and active participants in their treatment journey.

What truly sets Dr. Sameh Aknouk Dental Services apart is its exclusive specialization in prosthodontics—the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues. This focused expertise means that the practice is a referral destination for the most complex restorative cases, including full-mouth reconstructions, intricate implant therapies, and the management of severely worn dentitions. Dr. Aknouk leverages a deep understanding of occlusion (bite), temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function, and dental materials to create treatments that are not only stunning but also stable and harmonious with the body's natural physiology.

The practice's unique value proposition is anchored in three core pillars: mastery, technology, and a concierge-level experience. Mastery is evident in Dr. Aknouk's meticulous, detail-oriented approach, where every crown, bridge, veneer, or implant prosthesis is carefully planned and executed, often in collaboration with a network of elite dental laboratory technicians. Technology is harnessed to enhance precision and comfort, featuring state-of-the-art tools such as digital intraoral scanners that replace messy impressions, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for 3D imaging and safe implant planning, and CAD/CAM systems for same-day restorations. The patient experience is designed to be tranquil and personalized, from the thoughtfully designed modern office to the unhurried consultations and a team that provides attentive, supportive care at every step.

In a city teeming with dental options, this practice distinguishes itself by rejecting a one-size-fits-all, assembly-line approach. Each treatment plan is profoundly customized. Dr. Aknouk invests significant time in diagnostic procedures—including comprehensive exams, digital smile design previews, and sometimes diagnostic wax-ups—to ensure both doctor and patient have a clear and shared vision of the outcome before any procedure begins. This meticulous planning minimizes uncertainty and leads to exceptionally successful results. Catering to a discerning clientele, including professionals, artists, and individuals who have been dissatisfied with previous dental work, the practice has become synonymous with excellence, earning trust through consistent, life-changing outcomes. It is more than a dental office; it is a center for specialized rehabilitation where sophisticated dental problems are solved with expertise, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to artistic excellence.

Despite my usual fear of the dentist, Dr. Aknouk and the staff immediately made me feel comfortable with their extremely nice demeanor. I was seen quickly without a long wait. I would definitely recommend this dental place.

Decent care, but bad administration and communication in my case. Have been trying to get them to coordinate with insurance for a small chip in one tooth for a year and a half, which means the chip turned into a large crack and now needs a root canal and crown. They finally scheduled the work but forgot that they couldn't do it in the office near me, so had to reschedule me after I arrived, and their other office is an hour and 20 minutes by train away. So I spent the week looking for other offices closer, and called them at least three times leaving a message to cancel the appointment, the same number it says to call in their text messages, and once just called their main office number and also left a message there. On the appointment day, they of course call and ask why I'm not there because they can't even find messages in their own system. Can't communicate with me, can't or won't receive my messages back, and won't pick up the phone, is a bad combination. I hope they figure it out and wish them the best, I'll be looking for other options.

It was the quickest and least thorough cleaning I have ever had. It felt rushed and was less than 5 minutes. The people were nice, but I would not go back.

Trust the negative reviews!! Cleaning seemed half assed first of all. Beyond that I had to get 2 crowns put in upon Dr. Aknouks recommendation for 2 front teeth that were previously broken in an accident. I chose to go with this office because of the location and it was one of the only offices my insurance accepted. Not only was the first crown appointment extremely rushed, with terrible and messy results for the temporary teeth that I had to wear for (originally) 2+ weeks, they also lost my moldings for the permanent crowns so I had to ultimately wear those awful(!!!) and embarrassing temp teeth for over a month. Once my permanent crowns came in the installation technically looked fine from the front, but they cracked within 3 months (not normal for new permanent crowns) and upon one quick look from another dentist, they immediately said how they needed to have better shaping, sizing, and installation. They could not emphasize enough what terrible work this office did. What a complete waste of time and money. Do not let this office mess with your teeth!!!

Not sure I actually had a dental cleaning. It lasted 15 minutes or less but the best part is that she didn’t even use the floss to check that the teeth were clean. I am not an expert but I do cleanings every 6 months and i know what is considered a proper cleaning. The location was so convenient so too bad it didn’t work out.
