About

Emily Ro Dental, located at 250 8th Avenue, Suite 2S in the vibrant Chelsea neighborhood of New York, NY 10011, stands as a beacon of expert dental care since its establishment in 2004. Founded by Dr. Emily Ro, a specialty-trained Prosthodontist, the practice has built a stellar reputation over more than two decades for delivering compassionate, precise, and innovative oral health solutions tailored to each patient's unique needs. Dr. Ro's journey began with her rigorous training at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, where she later served as a Clinical Assistant Professor, honing her skills in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Since opening her doors in Chelsea, Emily Ro Dental has evolved from a solo practice into a comprehensive dental hub, previously associated with Emagen Dental PLLC, now proudly operating under its own name to emphasize personalized care in the heart of New York City.[4]

The mission of Emily Ro Dental is profoundly patient-centered: to partner with individuals and their loved ones in maintaining optimal dental health, preventing issues before they arise, and restoring smiles with the utmost expertise. Dr. Ro treats every patient as she would her own family and friends, fostering trust through clear communication, conservative treatment philosophies, and a commitment to the latest proven technologies. This approach sets the practice apart in a city teeming with dental options, where rushed appointments and one-size-fits-all solutions are all too common. Here, alternative and conservative methods are always prioritized—whether it's a simple bonding for a chipped tooth or a complex full-mouth reconstruction—ensuring minimal intervention while maximizing long-term results.[4]

At the core of the practice's expertise is **prosthodontics**, the dental specialty focused on restoring and replacing teeth through crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, and implants. Dr. Ro excels in addressing challenging cases stemming from trauma, congenital defects, oral cancer aftermath, or severe bruxism (teeth grinding). Services encompass customized digital smile design with on-site previews, lab-processed temporary restorations, precision-milled dentures, and advanced implant procedures featuring 3D surgical planning for optimal placement and outcomes. Implant-supported crowns and bridges provide durable, natural-looking solutions for missing teeth. Beyond prosthodontics, the practice offers comprehensive general dentistry, cosmetic enhancements like veneers for aesthetic perfection, and treatments for post-trauma or accident injuries. Patients rave about the seamless integration of technology, such as on-site labs for rapid, high-quality temps, which minimizes discomfort and accelerates recovery.[4][2]

What truly distinguishes Emily Ro Dental is its unique value proposition: a rare blend of specialty-level proficiency in a boutique, accessible setting. Unlike large corporate chains with assembly-line efficiency, this practice provides intimate, one-on-one attention from Dr. Ro herself, backed by glowing patient testimonials spanning 14+ years. Reviews highlight her intellectual acuity, manual dexterity, and calm demeanor during emergencies—even accommodating urgent cases for out-of-town business travelers with exceptional results. One patient noted a smooth tooth extraction by associated periodontist Dr. Cho with minimal swelling, while others praise the practice's evolution from Emagen Dental, struggling to find equals elsewhere. The Chelsea location enhances this appeal, offering convenience amid NYC's hustle with hours from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Wednesday, and flexible scheduling via platforms like Zocdoc and the practice's own booking system.[2][4][5]

Dr. Ro's professional stature further elevates the practice. As Past President of the Eastern Dental Society, Past Board Member of the New York County Dental Society, and active member of the American Dental Association and American College of Prosthodontics, she embodies leadership and adherence to the highest standards. This network ensures patients benefit from cutting-edge insights and collaborative care when specialists like Dr. Elena Kan (Prosthodontist) or Dr. Cho are involved. Emily Ro Dental accepts various dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental PPO options, making premium care attainable. With a direct phone line (212-248-1000), email (info@dremilyro.com), and a user-friendly website, accessibility is paramount.[3][4][6]

In an era where dental health profoundly impacts overall well-being, Emily Ro Dental sets itself apart by prioritizing prevention, precision, and personalization. Whether restoring a single damaged front tooth to seamlessly match its neighbors or orchestrating full-mouth rehabilitations, Dr. Ro's conservative ethos—always considering the simplest viable option first—delivers transformative results without unnecessary complexity. Patients don't just leave with healthier smiles; they gain a lifelong partner in oral wellness. As New Yorkers navigate demanding lives, this Chelsea gem offers respite: expert care, compassionate service, and smiles that endure. With over 20 years of service by 2026, Emily Ro Dental continues to redefine excellence in urban dentistry, one patient at a time.[4]

I went in for a deep cleaning today - another positive experience at this office. Today I met Dr. Ro who painlessly got me numb and prepared me for Rachel who did the cleaning. I’m usually uncomfortable and fidgety in the chair but not today! I did not even feel the injections after Lucy had prepped my gums with gel. Being properly anesthetized is key and Dr. Ro was terrific. I leave feeling so much better and with a good report on my oral health. I look forward to rebuilding my smile with this wonderful team who take so much time to ensure that a patient is comfortable. Thank you Dr. Ro and team!

We highly recommend Dr. Ro! She saved a tooth other dentists wanted to extract, which is how I found her from a recommended list for Google employees. My husband and I have had crowns, implants, night guards, and other procedures done with Dr. Ro over the years. Because she has an outstanding in-house technician, appliances fit beautifully. She and her team seem to enjoy their work. They certainly take pride in delivering the best care. On a referral to a specialist, they commented that Dr. Ro is ‘beyond excellent.’

Dr. Emily Ro is truly one of a kind. I've never met a dentist like her. For over 20 years, I suffered from pain in my canine tooth. I visited many dental offices and had countless X-rays taken, but was always told there was nothing wrong. But when Dr. Ro looked at the X-ray, it took her less than a minute to identify the real issue, and it was a biting problem. After a quick adjustment, I felt relief! Not only is she incredibly skilled, but she also has such a warm and caring heart, which is rare to find these days. I’ve been recovering from breast cancer surgery and struggling with vertigo, and she was so thoughtful and gentle with me. Even the cleaning (scaling), which I usually find uncomfortable, was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had. Her office is far from where I live, but it was absolutely worth the trip. I can’t recommend her enough! She is a truly exceptional dentist.

I can’t adequately express how grateful I am for Dr. Kan, Dr. Ro, and the entire staff at the office! I’ve seen over 15 dentists in my life but the people here have really raised the caliber beyond what I thought possible. I had a complicated case (decade old bridge, permanent retainers, a chipped tooth, problematic implant, etc) and Dr. Kan came up with a meticulous treatment plan, all the while never making me feel pressured into doing anything I didn’t want. She is extremely talented in her craft. People have told me that the temporary bridge she made for me is a lot better than some permanent ones they’ve seen. This is just one moment that highlights the genuine care and precision she applies to her work. For years I had gotten used to an uncomfortable bite and shrugged it off. Dr. Kan noticed this and went above and beyond to fix it. I don’t think biting down has ever felt this natural and easy in my life. This kindness and passion is also evident in Dr. Ro and everyone else at the office. Logan at the front desk is easily one of the nicest and most helpful people you’ll ever encounter. They made long visits and long procedures feel easy. A million thank yous to everyone at the office for being so awesome
