Flatiron Family Dental is truly outstanding. Warm, professional, and genuinely caring from the first hello. Dr. Shimonova explained everything clearly, the treatment was comfortable, and the office is clean, modern, and always on time. This is the first dental practice in years where I actually look forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!

I was skeptical coming to this practice (I had the same dentist for many years but his practice was sold). Dr Katz was recommended by a colleague and I am beyond happy I came here. Dr Katz and his team are amazing. Dr Katz is so talented, funny, gentle and extremely knowledgeable. He took his time. The clinic is clean, modern (best technology) and the staff friendly and accommodating. Their pricing is transparent. Terrific experience. Thank you.

Dr. Katz is by far the best dentist that I have ever been to in my life. He truly listens and takes his time, and he even does the cleanings himself! I’ve had TMJ issues for years, and I’ve mentioned this to other dentists, who didn’t give it a second thought. Dr. Katz actually sat down with me, pointed out that misalignment in my bite may be contributing to my TMJ, and recommended an orthodontist who could use invisalign to try and fix my situation. He was the only dentist to help me connect the dots and identify a real solution. If you want a dentist who genuinely cares and pays attention to what you actually need, go see Dr. Katz!

I appreciated that this office has a family-oriented approach and a welcoming structure. However, I did not appreciate not having all the information upfront. I came here seeking help for an issue that is both painful and affecting how I see myself. When I go to a professional, I expect to feel cared for and fully informed. Instead, I felt more like I’m — receiving information in fragments and soundbites rather than a clear, complete explanation. Even if someone is getting assistance through insurance or otherwise, every patient deserves the same level of care, clarity, and respect. Transparency matters, especially when patients are already feeling vulnerable.

on 10/28/25, when I was seen by Dr. Sh--- , referred by one of the doctors of Diamond Braces, she was initially very nice and informative. But when she used the scraper, she accidentally scraped my top lip. I waited for an apology, and when she didn’t say anything, I gently tapped her hand and let her know what happened. She acknowledged it, but still didn’t apologize. Then, while scraping the inside of my teeth, she poked my gums—it really hurt—but again, no apology. When she finished the cleaning, I brought it up again to make her aware of what she’d done, and her response was, “You’ll be okay…” I just couldn’t understand why she couldn’t simply apologize. That’s one of the reasons I didn’t schedule my next appointment with her.
