About

Kids Dental, located at 260 Audubon Avenue in the heart of Washington Heights, New York City (NY 10033), stands as a premier pediatric dental practice dedicated exclusively to the oral health of children and teens of all ages. Nestled in a vibrant community, this specialized clinic has earned a stellar reputation for delivering comprehensive, compassionate care in a welcoming environment designed to alleviate the common fears associated with dental visits. With a 4.2-star rating from over 570 reviews on platforms like Birdeye, parents consistently praise the practice for its professionalism, patience with anxious young patients, and exceptional results in everything from routine cleanings to complex procedures.[1] As part of a broader network affiliated with 866 Fix Teeth, a multi-specialty group with over 18 years of service across New York City's five boroughs, Kids Dental benefits from shared expertise while maintaining its focused mission on pediatric dentistry.[5][6]

The history of Kids Dental is intertwined with the evolution of accessible, high-quality pediatric care in urban New York. Operating out of multiple locations including this flagship site, the practice has grown to address the unique dental needs of diverse families in Washington Heights and beyond. While exact founding dates are not publicly detailed, its association with 866 Fix Teeth places its roots firmly over 18 years ago, during which time the team has adapted to innovations in dental techniques, sedation methods, and child-centered care protocols.[5] This longevity reflects a commitment to staying ahead of the curve, integrating the latest advancements to ensure safe, effective treatments tailored to growing smiles.

At the core of Kids Dental's mission is the creation of positive dental experiences that foster lifelong oral health habits. The practice emphasizes a family-centered approach, where every visit is an opportunity to educate parents and empower children. Their philosophy prioritizes preventative care to intercept issues early, reducing the need for invasive interventions later. This is evident in their full scope of services, which spans routine preventative measures like professional cleanings, dental sealants, and fluoride applications to address urgent care needs, restorative treatments, and even oral surgery.[1] For children who are particularly sensitive or anxious—common in pediatric dentistry—Kids Dental offers sedation dentistry, including safe options monitored by experienced professionals like Dr. John, Dr. Naro, Dr. Hansford, and their teams. Reviews highlight the reassurance provided during these procedures, with parents noting friendly staff who answer questions thoroughly, even if protocols like room restrictions during sedation are in place for safety.[1]

What truly sets Kids Dental apart is its unwavering expertise in pediatric-specific care. The dentists here are top-rated specialists trained to handle the nuances of young patients, from toddlers with emerging teeth to teens navigating orthodontic concerns. Unlike general practices that may treat children as smaller adults, Kids Dental creates a child-friendly atmosphere with a focus on patience and professionalism, as echoed in multilingual reviews calling the service 'excelente' and 'fantástico' for how they treat kids.[1] Their unique value proposition lies in this blend of comprehensive services and emotional support: urgent care for chipped teeth or infections, behavioral management for fearful patients, and preventative strategies that align with American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guidelines for a 'dental home'—an ongoing, coordinated relationship for total oral health.[4] Sedation options make complex treatments feasible without trauma, while the practice's accessibility—open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays until 4 p.m.—caters to busy family schedules in a neighborhood setting.[1]

In a city brimming with dental options, Kids Dental distinguishes itself through its community-rooted presence and proven track record. Parents rave about straightened teeth after long-term neglect, safe sedation experiences, and staff who go beyond clinical care to build trust.[1] Affiliated with 866 Fix Teeth, they offer seamless referrals for advanced needs like orthodontics or endodontics, yet remain a standalone haven for pediatric focus with three NYC locations.[5] Insurance-friendly with in-house discounted plans for the uninsured, they ensure affordability without compromising quality.[5] This holistic approach—expertise meets empathy—positions Kids Dental not just as a clinic, but as a partner in your child's dental journey, helping them 'love' their visits and emerge with healthy, confident smiles. Whether it's a first check-up or emergency extraction, Kids Dental transforms potential dread into delight, one gentle procedure at a time. With phone access at 212-781-3000 and a directive to visit MyFirstDENTISTNY.com for more, they invite families to experience the difference.[5][8] (Word count: 728)

Never an issue here and the Doctor my son had today was beautiful (even with her mask on) polite, informative, gentle and just amazing with him! I think she said her name was Sunny. Well she definitely brightened up my day!☀️

In my experience, the waiting time in this place is horrible. My son’s appointment was for 12:30pm, he got seen at 2pm. The service they provide is great, the doctors are great. If they could only work on the waiting time to be less than an hour that would make a big difference.

In my experience, service providers have been nice and helpful, the wait is not bad, doctors are excellent with the kids and everything. BUT there is a big problem and it’s hygiene issues, the restroom looks dirty, the walls are disgustingly, the toilet moves when you seat and smell bad. When you go inside you can see that they don’t clean the place the right way.

Yal been having bad reviews for a long time. Owner responds but none is being fixed all ya did was add “excuse for the wait signs” I don’t think you’re taking these reviews serious enough … your loosing clients clearly & would loose more. it seems nobody wants to really do their job im VERY observant and I watched workers walk around doing NOTHING while theirs people outside waiting and while I was also waiting. I believe since they noticed I was asking questions they were prob nervous to attend to me due to not wanting or having the answer or wanting to do the work. ?? Seems nobody likes to do the cleanings so they’ll make you wait until someone finally decides to do it. Most workers seems lazy . You should hire new people ! Even though I seen yal did but guess’s what monkey see monkey do. they gotten too comfortable and think it’s okay. I seen a girl get excited that she’s about to leave and it was only 2pm .. when they close at 4. Starting to think they purposely don’t book people after a certain time so they can go home. I also see they don’t follow the first come first serve basics. They’re not organized or just don’t care. Makes me wonder if they don’t care about the little things how can I trust their judgement on anything else. Or maybe yal get paid more for certain things it’s making me questions the malpractices. I wish I got a second opinion on my son before crowning 8 of his teeth’s . Which I didn’t find out till the day off ? I hope that’s not for a payday . I seen a paper that said he had a due date follow up and nobody ever called for it. And his crowns are apparently all loose. I’m hoping that’s really for the reason they stated and his not left without any teeth. If yal don’t like ya job get a new one !!

Very disappointed with the wait times. I had an appointment scheduled, but still ended up waiting over [insert time, e.g., 45 minutes] before even being called back. This isn't the first time it's happened either. It's frustrating to plan your day around an appointment only to sit and wait with no explanation. The staff is polite, but the scheduling clearly needs improvement. If you're looking for a place that respects your time, I wouldn’t recommend this office.
