About

Legacy Oral Surgery and Implants, strategically located at 312 44th Street in the heart of Union City, New Jersey, stands as a premier destination for advanced oral and maxillofacial surgical care. Founded on the principle of blending clinical excellence with profound compassion, the practice has cultivated a sterling reputation throughout Hudson County and the broader New York Metropolitan area. It was established by a visionary oral surgeon who recognized the need for a specialized center that not only addresses complex dental surgical needs but also transforms the patient experience from one of anxiety to one of comfort and trust. The name 'Legacy' is a deliberate reflection of the practice's core mission: to build a lasting legacy of healthy smiles, restored function, and positive patient relationships that endure for generations.

The mission of Legacy Oral Surgery and Implants is multifaceted. Primarily, it is committed to delivering the highest standard of evidence-based surgical care in a safe, welcoming, and state-of-the-art environment. Beyond technical proficiency, the practice's mission deeply emphasizes patient education and empowerment, ensuring every individual fully understands their condition and treatment options, thereby participating actively in their own care journey. The team operates with the belief that exceptional care is defined not just by successful surgical outcomes, but by the entirety of the patient experience—from the first phone call through follow-up care.

What truly sets Legacy Oral Surgery and Implants apart is its holistic and patient-centric philosophy. In a field that can often feel clinical and intimidating, this practice has meticulously designed an environment and protocol to alleviate fear. This is evident in their comprehensive approach to patient comfort, which includes advanced sedation options tailored to individual anxiety levels and pain management needs. The practice invests heavily in the latest technology, such as 3D cone beam CT imaging, which provides detailed, three-dimensional views of the jaw, teeth, nerves, and sinuses. This allows for precise diagnosis, meticulous surgical planning for dental implants, and safer extractions, particularly for complex cases like impacted wisdom teeth. Their on-site access to this technology streamlines the process, eliminating the need for patients to visit external imaging centers.

The expertise at Legacy is anchored by its lead oral and maxillofacial surgeon, who possesses extensive training and a focus on continuous education. The specialization in dental implantology is a cornerstone of their services, encompassing single tooth replacements, full-arch reconstructions (like All-on-4®), and bone grafting procedures to rebuild jaw structure. This expertise ensures that patients not only regain the function of natural teeth but also achieve aesthetic results that restore confidence. The practice's surgical proficiency extends to tooth extractions (including complex and impacted teeth), treatment of oral pathology, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), and facial trauma management.

The unique value proposition of Legacy Oral Surgery and Implants lies in its synthesis of cutting-edge technology, surgical mastery, and unparalleled patient care. The practice understands that undergoing oral surgery is a significant decision, and they differentiate themselves through transparent communication, detailed financial consultations, and a supportive staff that treats every patient like family. They have built a seamless referral network with local general dentists and orthodontists, facilitating coordinated care. Furthermore, their location in Union City makes advanced surgical care highly accessible to a diverse community, and they cater to this diversity with multilingual staff and culturally sensitive care. By focusing on building a 'legacy' of trust one patient at a time, this practice has distinguished itself not as a mere surgical facility, but as a vital healthcare partner dedicated to improving quality of life through exceptional oral surgery and implant services.

My daughter needed a procedure done here and we were treated so well and the procedure went very smoothly. The staff was wonderful and kept me well informed before and after the procedure. I will without a doubt keep coming back.

1st off the office is super clean, smells great, modern style, comfortable seats and friendly staff overall. All of the staff I encountered were all welcoming. Hilary specifically from the front desk was very helpful with me as I waited in the lobby for my son during his surgery. In the meantime as I waited for him, I had a few questions about setting up an implant consultation, cost and reviewing my insurance for myself and she helped me so quickly and got me all set for my appointment.

For someone who is genuinely petrified of the dentist, this practice went above and beyond for my wisdom tooth removal. Everyone was sweet, kind, patient, and understanding. Dr. Herbst was especially amazing throughout the whole procedure. Thank you 🫶🏼

Dr. Hsaio and the entire staff were very professional, warm, caring, thorough, and very clearly about what insurance would most likely cover and what I would pay out of pocket and they helped me apply for a payment plan. I highly recommend Legacy Oral Surgery.

If I could give this place zero stars I would.I went in to get a consultation and my wisdom teeth pulled (without anesthesia) on the same day. I was advised by the doctor to get anesthesia to get my wisdom teeth removed. The nurse says to me “I really recommend anesthesia, you can just come back tomorrow at nine because you already ate.” After convincing me that anesthesia would be best, the insurance lady comes in and tells me a price and I sign the papers. When I get home she calls and says since the procedure is on the following day, it will be billed differently than if you got the procedure done today. She also put in the wrong code and that it’s actually going to be double the price. They will not honor the price they told me and that I signed for with anesthesia. They want me to come the next day and do it without the anesthesia so its within the same price as the original price they told me. So now they will bill me for a consultation even though it is completely their fault and had me sign a document under misinformation at which they are at fault. If I go somewhere else then I would have to pay for a consultation again because the will not withdraw their invalid claim.
