About

Little Apple Pediatric Dentistry, located at 112 E 83rd St Ground Floor, New York, NY 10028, stands as a premier destination for children's dental care in the heart of Manhattan's Upper East Side. Specializing in gentle and comprehensive pediatric dentistry, this practice is dedicated to creating positive dental experiences for children from infancy through adolescence, fostering lifelong habits of optimal oral health. Unlike general dentists who treat patients of all ages, the team at Little Apple Pediatric Dentistry has undergone specialized training—typically 2-3 additional years beyond dental school—to address the unique needs of young patients, including their behavioral, developmental, and physiological differences. This expertise allows them to deliver care in a safe, welcoming environment designed specifically for kids, complete with a modern, nicely appointed office that helps ease first-time anxieties, as noted by parents whose toddlers had exceptionally positive visits with Dr. Edelman.

While specific founding details are not publicly detailed, Little Apple Pediatric Dentistry appears to be a relatively new practice, featuring fresh, contemporary facilities that prioritize comfort and child-friendliness. Their mission is clear: to provide the highest quality dental services in the greater New York area, building lifelong relationships with patients through personalized treatment plans tailored to each child's individual needs. They emphasize a minimally invasive approach, focusing not only on immediate concerns like routine cleanings and emergency care but also on early identification of underlying issues to promote long-term oral health. This proactive stance sets them apart, ensuring that every visit contributes to healthy smiles and good dental habits that last a lifetime.

The core services encompass a wide spectrum of pediatric dental care, including preventative measures such as fluoride treatments—recommended by the American Dental Association for over half a century to prevent cavities, with age-appropriate amounts like a smear for children under 3 and a pea-size for those over. They guide families on proper toothpaste use and address common concerns like baby teeth importance; even temporary, these teeth prevent crowding, alignment issues, and infections that could impact nutrition and permanent tooth eruption. Habit correction for ages 2-6, such as thumb sucking or early tooth loss, and orthodontic evaluations from as young as 2-3 years help avert major interventions later. For school-aged children (6-12), they manage jaw and dental alignment with responsive tissues ideal for treatment. Unique scenarios like 'shark teeth'—where permanent teeth emerge behind baby ones—are handled reassuringly, often resolving naturally but monitored closely.

What truly distinguishes Little Apple Pediatric Dentistry is their unwavering commitment to patient comfort and education. They create customized plans to keep children calm and relaxed, transforming potential fears into enjoyable routines. Led by professionals like Dr. Rachel Edelman, DMD, PC, the practice earns rave reviews for making first dental visits memorable and stress-free. In a city brimming with dental options, their child-centric focus, specialized pediatric expertise, and emphasis on preventative, personalized care elevate them above competitors. Parents appreciate the new office's inviting atmosphere and the team's ability to address everything from emergencies to developmental guidance, ensuring comprehensive care that supports overall well-being. By prioritizing gentle techniques and family involvement, Little Apple not only treats teeth but nurtures confident, healthy kids ready for life’s smiles. Whether it's a routine check-up, cavity prevention, or early orthodontic assessment, this practice delivers exceptional value through expertise, empathy, and excellence, making it the go-to choice for New York families seeking top-tier pediatric dentistry.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Little Apple Pediatric Dentistry for my 2½-year-old’s first visit. She had previously had a mildly traumatic experience at another so-called pediatric dentist nearby, so I was understandably a bit nervous going in—but this visit could not have been more different. From the moment we walked in, the office felt warm, inviting, and calm. It’s brand new, clean, and beautifully designed with kids clearly in mind. Melissa at the front desk was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which immediately set the tone. The dental assistant was so kind and patient, and Dr. Rachel was truly exceptional. Dr. Rachel initially prepped the regular dental suite, but when my daughter started to feel nervous, she immediately pivoted—bringing us to a special room without dental equipment so my child could relax. We played with a kids’ dental mirror and Sparkles unicorn while chatting, and everything felt unhurried and thoughtful. When it was time for the exam and cleaning, Dr. Rachel sang fun songs to us, which made the whole experience feel playful instead of scary. The visit ended on a high note with an amazing goodie bag—balloon, kids toothbrush, kids toothpaste, bubbles, stickers—the works. My daughter was genuinely excited when we left, which is something I never expected to say after a dental visit. I was so impressed that I immediately scheduled new patient visits for my five-year-old, and I’ll be bringing my baby here for her first dental appointment as soon as she gets her first teeth. I’m incredibly grateful to this kind, patient, and thoughtful team. Highly, highly recommend.

Little Apple Pediatric Dentistry was amazing! Dr. Rachel and her team were so warm and patient—they played with my daughter so she could warm up first. The office is fun, welcoming, and perfect for kids. Dr. Rachel was gentle, quick, and great with my sensory-sensitive almost-3-year-old. I was dreading the dentist, but it ended up being such a pleasant experience!

Dr. Rachel Edelman is absolutely amazing with children! She has such a natural way of making kids feel comfortable, safe, and even excited about going to the dentist. She’s so patient and makes it so playful - she sings songs and makes each appointment so fun, she turned my car loving son’s teeth into a car wash experience. You can tell right away that she genuinely loves working with kids. On top of that, her office is stunning!! It's bright, welcoming, and spa-like. It doesn’t feel like a dentist’s office at all, more like a calm, beautiful play space - my kids keep asking to go back and play. If you’re looking for a pediatric dentist, Dr. Edelman is the one!

The absolute best kids dentist! Dr Rachel is so kind, gentle, and thorough. We followed her here from her prior clinic, and we are delighted with her new setup! So light, airy, welcoming, comfortable, and fun! Everything is brand new and perfect. The kids are so happy and content here. They were so disappointed to learn that they aren’t coming back for 6 months, they want to go to see Dr. Rachel every month! 10/10 stars, absolutely bring your kiddos here!!!

We loved our experience here! My 3-year-old wasn’t scared at all and didn’t shed a single tear. Dr. Rachel was so sweet and gentle with him. The clinic is beautiful, very clean, and the Halloween decorations were such a fun bonus. Highly recommend!
