About

Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics, located at 77 Bowery 6th Floor, New York, NY 10002, stands as a premier orthodontic practice in the heart of New York City, dedicated to transforming smiles and enhancing lives through advanced, personalized care. Founded by the esteemed Dr. Jenny Zhu, a native New Yorker raised on the Lower East Side, the practice embodies a deep-rooted commitment to excellence that stems from her own personal journey with orthodontics—having worn braces twice, once as an adolescent and again as an adult. This unique perspective allows Dr. Zhu and her exceptional team, including Dr. Victor Chiang, Dr. Kimberly Bui, and Dr. Mythilee Kugathasan, to empathize profoundly with patients' concerns, fostering trust and confidence from the very first visit.[1][3][4][5] The mission of Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics is clear: to deliver top-tier orthodontic treatment that not only straightens teeth but also boosts self-esteem, improves dental health, and refines facial profiles, all while prioritizing patient comfort, convenience, and outstanding results.[1][2]

Established with a focus on cutting-edge technology and elite expertise, the practice has earned its reputation as New York City's #1 trusted orthodontic team, particularly as a top provider of Invisalign and clear aligners. Dr. Zhu's illustrious educational background sets a high standard: after graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, she earned her DDS from NYU College of Dentistry in 2004, ranking in the top 5% of her class. She further specialized with a Master's degree in Orthodontics from Columbia University, complemented by a Certificate of Honors in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders from NYU, and award-winning research in Bone and Mineral Research from the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists. Her previous Diplomate status with the American Board of Orthodontics underscores her adherence to the highest clinical standards.[4] The entire team shares this caliber of elite training, ensuring every patient receives care from highly rated orthodontists who consistently produce excellent clinical outcomes.[3]

What truly sets Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics apart is its unique value proposition: a seamless blend of advanced 3D technology, such as the iTero digital 3D scanner, with genuine, compassionate patient connections. Unlike many practices that treat orthodontics as a mere procedure, this office creates a welcoming sanctuary adorned with vibrant local artwork, where staff and doctors take time to listen to fears, address anxieties, and celebrate milestones—like the young patient who overcame bullying concerns to beam with pride post-treatment.[2][3] Their comprehensive services span traditional metal braces, innovative clear aligners including Invisalign and Angel Aligners, Phase 1 Early Treatment for growing children, habit appliances, custom mouth guards, and orthodontic retainers, addressing issues from overbites and crowding to open bites, underbites, crossbites, gaps, jaw pain, and bite problems.[1][5][6]

Convenience is another hallmark, with easy subway and bus access near the iconic Manhattan Bridge, minimizing disruptions to busy New York lifestyles. They excel in pain management techniques that minimize discomfort, employ modern digital methods for precision, and offer free initial consultations to demystify the process.[1][2][7] For those without insurance, competitive fees and interest-free payment plans make world-class care accessible. Participation in major PPO networks like MetLife, Aetna, Cigna, Delta, GHI, and Guardian, plus union plans such as 1199 and 32BJ, ensures broad coverage options, with staff ready to verify benefits.[7]

Patients rave about the life-changing impact: straighter smiles that enhance confidence, healthier bites that prevent future issues, and a supportive environment that turns orthodontic journeys into empowering experiences. Thousands of successful cases later, Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics continues to innovate, prioritizing unsurpassed expertise, customer service, and results that last. Whether you're a teen facing school pressures, a professional seeking discreet aligners, or a parent investing in early intervention, this practice distinguishes itself by treating each smile as a story worth telling—delivering not just orthodontic excellence, but profound personal transformation in the vibrant pulse of NYC.[1][2][3][4] (Word count: 612)

Been going here for almost 2 years and this place is amazing. My son needed to get braces, and as a result we were recommend here by a friend. The environment is very comfortable and lively. The unique idea of “brace bucks” and a claw machine really hypes up the kids and makes the behavior better (hats off to the staff!) The staff will even take a picture of you and your prize, keeping it on the bulletin board shown below. The staff that do the primary billing are friendly and compromising, while the assistants that first come in and check your braces do excellent work, while the doctors are extremely professional. This place is very kid friendly and I recommend it for orthodontic treatment. Looking forward to realigned teeth for my son and continuous good service.

Manhattan Bridge Orthodontics was extremely diligent with my invisalign treatment and every time we saw that it wasn’t going as expected, it was corrected immediately. All of the doctors and staff were excellent but special shoutout to Dr. Bui as she was the doctor I interacted with the most for being especially thorough and always checking in with where I’m at and how I’m feeling. I was very pleased with the flexibility and the attention to detail I was given and would recommend MBO to anyone looking for orthodontic treatment.

Amazing customer service, great office, very cozy. They fixed my crossbite and I got my retainers today. I used my college scholarship money for the whole journey and I think it was my best investment ever. I’m honestly going to miss them!

It felt weird wearing braces at first, my teeth were sensitive and it hurt to chew food for days. After a week, I got more used to wearing them and from there it was smooth sailing. The orthodontists were nice and very friendly. I’m very grateful to them and appreciate their help in fixing my teeth. Thank you!

Being in the medical profession and see how the staff treat the patients who many times don't know any better is sad. I have a friend who was told that her 12 year old son really needs braces. Making it sound as if it was a medical need. They also refused to put it in writing to the insurance. Instead they told his mother to write a letter of appeal to the insurance company when they denied this. This seems to be a futile gesture and that the insurance company is not going to all of a sudden approve braces. When asked about a letter the office manager was quick to defer to anyone and everyone else to be involved, pediatric dentist, pediatrician, except them, the orthodontist. Even though they told the mother the child needed braces. Classic case of kicking the can and responsibility to someone else. This is never explained and left the mother worrying about how she was going to come up with the money. We stopped by the office and asked the office manager how exactly can you not write a medical letter of need and tell the parent to write a letter. At that point she reveals that his teeth don't meet criteria for medical need for braces to be covered by insurance and that this is basically more cosmetic in nature. So why would you not be upfront about it at the beginning? The office manager had a bit of attitude when having to clarify this after being asked specifics in person. The manager did explain this in Cantonese to the mother finally in person. To put this place into prospective, there seems to be a push to pay out of pocket with little effort to help with trying to get it to go through with insurance. Why mislead a mother that her kid really need braces, knowing that the insurance won't cover it because they consider it cosmetic. Patients need to be able to trust their providers. This all seems shady. ---------------------------------- Update 1-19-26. Please see screenshot. A long response was written about how things are different between the medical and dental world. They also said it was due to misunderstanding due to language barrier. The problem is actions speak louder than words. The office manager called the mother today and said they need to find a new orthodontist because of my review? Good thing is they weren't planning on going back to your office anyway. However, to retaliate to the patient and her mother who didn't write the review, seems unethical regardless of whether it's medical or dental. It is just downright petty.
