About
NY Dental - Arman Roksar DDS PLLC is a premier dental practice located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, specializing in advanced cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Led by Dr. Arman Roksar, DDS, a board-certified prosthodontist, the practice has established itself as a trusted provider of comprehensive dental care in New York City for more than 25 years[1]. The practice is situated at 220 Riverside Blvd in the 10069 zip code, serving patients throughout the Upper West Side and surrounding areas.
Dr. Roksar's approach to dentistry is fundamentally patient-centered, emphasizing the development of trusting partnerships between provider and patient. His philosophy centers on understanding each patient's unique needs and concerns, recognizing that every smile is distinct and requires customized solutions. This commitment to personalized care extends from the initial consultation through the completion of treatment, with Dr. Roksar working side-by-side with patients to create comprehensive, life-long plans for preserving and beautifying both teeth and gums[2].
The practice distinguishes itself through its integration of cutting-edge dental technology with compassionate clinical care. A cornerstone of this technological advancement is the implementation of 3D digital scanning and intra-oral scanning capabilities, which utilize CAD/CAM camera technology to capture detailed images of teeth without requiring traditional impressions or molds[1]. This innovation significantly enhances patient comfort, reduces chair time, and produces superior dental restorations compared to conventional methods. By eliminating the discomfort associated with impression materials, the practice demonstrates its commitment to optimizing the patient experience at every stage of treatment.
Dr. Roksar's expertise spans the full spectrum of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. His specialty in prosthodontics—the dental discipline focused on the restoration and replacement of teeth—enables him to address complex cases involving advanced crowns, bridgework, dental implants, and comprehensive smile rehabilitation[2]. Whether patients require simple restorative procedures such as fillings or more sophisticated treatments involving multiple restorations, Dr. Roksar applies his advanced training and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that results look and feel natural while meeting the highest standards of clinical excellence.
The practice operates within a framework of rigorous infection control and safety protocols. In alignment with recommendations from the American Dental Association (ADS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NY Dental maintains the highest standards for sterilization and safe provision of care, ensuring that patient health and safety remain paramount[1]. This commitment to protective measures provides patients with peace of mind regarding the safety and hygiene of their dental treatment.
Beyond clinical excellence, NY Dental is committed to making advanced dental care accessible and affordable. The practice accepts numerous dental insurance plans and dental savings plans, recognizing that financial considerations should not be barriers to receiving quality care[1]. This inclusive approach to payment options reflects the practice's dedication to serving a diverse patient population and removing obstacles to treatment initiation.
The practice environment itself is designed to support patient well-being and comfort. Described as a calm, soothing setting, the office prioritizes creating a relaxing atmosphere that alleviates dental anxiety and promotes a positive treatment experience[1]. This attention to the physical and emotional environment complements the clinical expertise and compassionate care provided by Dr. Roksar and his skilled, dedicated professional team.
What ultimately sets NY Dental apart is the integration of multiple excellence factors: a highly trained and specialized prosthodontist with decades of experience, state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology, a genuine commitment to understanding and addressing individual patient needs, rigorous safety and quality standards, and a welcoming practice environment. This combination creates a comprehensive dental care experience that prioritizes both clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

I think I finally found my dentist in the city. The receptionists Jasmine and Carol are professional and friendly the dental hygienist Daniela is gentle, patient and extremely thorough. Dr. Roksar himself is one of the best dentists I’ve ever met. He explained everything clearly even showed me x-rays on the big TV monitor and I left the office feeling very assured and confident in the dental care I’m receiving from this office. Highly recommend.
I’ve been seeing him for the past 5 years, and he’s truly the best dentist I’ve ever had. I had so much dental work done by other dentists before, and there were always problems. But since I started seeing him, my teeth have been absolutely perfect. Even this morning, my old crown (from an implant done years ago by another dentist) came off, and he took me right away. The service was perfect as always. He’s the best dentist in NYC as far as I know!
I had a mixed experience with Dr. Roksar, and while I don’t usually leave reviews, I think it’s important to share.
Years ago, Dr. Roksar placed a crown veneer for me. Due to COVID-related limitations at the time, we agreed to shave down the back of the crown to make it fit, knowing it might affect durability. Dr. Roksar told me, “If it breaks within five years, come back and I’ll fix it.”
Just over four years later, the crown broke—as expected. But when I returned, Dr. Roksar didn’t acknowledge the prior conversation and gave me attitude when I tried to provide context. Still, I let it go and chose to move forward. He placed a temporary tooth and submitted pre-authorization paperwork to my insurance.
That’s when things really stalled. It took three to four months of me calling both his office and my insurance provider to learn that my out-of-network coverage would barely cover anything—leaving me with a large bill for the three crowns he recommended. During this time, my temporary tooth broke (and remains broken as I write this review). His office repeatedly blamed the insurance company for delays. That may have been true in part, but I didn’t feel like anyone on his team was genuinely advocating for me. The one staff member who handles insurance was consistently unavailable, and no one else could assist.
Meanwhile, my insurance provider said they hadn’t received the necessary follow-up information from the office. I felt stuck in the middle. Every time I spoke with Dr. Roksar, he came across as dismissive and irritated.
In the end, I realized I had to go elsewhere. The entire experience felt disorganized, unprofessional, and ultimately disappointing. I didn’t feel that Dr. Roksar—or his office—cared all that much about resolving the issue or about me as a patient.
