Park Avenue Oral Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery, located at 30 E 60th St #608 in New York, NY 10022, stands as a premier destination for advanced oral, maxillofacial, and implant procedures in the heart of Manhattan. Led by Dr. Choi, a board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, this practice embodies a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care that prioritizes minimally invasive techniques to ensure faster recovery, minimal pain, and optimal outcomes. With over 10 years of rigorous training and practice, Dr. Choi brings unparalleled expertise to his field, distinguishing the practice through his unique fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Munich, Germany, in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery. This specialized education equips him with the latest technologies and cutting-edge methods that reduce surgical intervention while maximizing clinical results, setting Park Avenue Oral Surgery apart from traditional practices that often rely on more invasive approaches.

The history of the practice reflects Dr. Choi's dedication to excellence, honed through extensive training and a passion for innovation in oral surgery. While specific founding dates are not detailed, his decade-plus journey—from advanced residency programs to international fellowship—has shaped a practice that serves New York City and surrounding areas with a focus on precision and patient comfort. The mission of Park Avenue Oral Surgery is clear: to deliver safe, comfortable anesthesia and procedures that minimize disruption to patients' lives. This philosophy is woven into every aspect of care, from initial consultations that thoroughly review medical and dental history, physical exams, and imaging, to post-operative support that includes detailed instructions and after-hours accessibility.[1][5]

Services at Park Avenue Oral Surgery encompass a comprehensive spectrum of oral surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery and surgical removal of wisdom teeth; maxillofacial surgery addressing jaw issues related to dentofacial deformities, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and aesthetics; bone grafting; implant surgery for restorative needs; and specialized chin surgery for augmentation and reshaping. Patients also benefit from jaw line enhancement through both non-invasive and surgical options, as well as treatments for TMJ disorders utilizing Botox and surgical interventions. A hallmark is the emphasis on safe and comfortable anesthesia, ensuring patient safety and ease throughout procedures. What truly sets this practice apart is its unwavering focus on minimally invasive methodologies—less surgery translates directly to less pain and quicker recovery times, allowing patients to return to their routines swiftly. Testimonials underscore this, with patients like Elizabeth H. praising Dr. Choi's warm demeanor, sincerity, and reassuring post-surgery follow-up, noting how her daughter felt completely trusted in his care.[1]

The unique value proposition lies in Dr. Choi's blend of board certification, specialized international training, and a patient-first approach that integrates advanced technology with personalized service. Unlike larger hospitals or multi-doctor groups, this boutique practice offers an intimate, tailored experience where appointments are scheduled around patient availability, emergencies are prioritized, and same-day procedures are possible when appropriate. The state-of-the-art facility supports in-house imaging like CT scans and panoramic x-rays for comprehensive diagnostics, covering jaw structures, sinus cavities, and TMJ areas—far beyond standard dental x-rays.[5][6] Financial considerations are handled with accommodating options, though specifics are discussed during consultations.

In a city teeming with oral surgery options, Park Avenue Oral Surgery differentiates itself through its specialist focus on advanced implants, jaw and chin aesthetics, and TMJ management, all executed with German-engineered precision and American-trained compassion. Serving areas like Central Park and Park Avenue, the practice fosters long-term trust, as evidenced by glowing Google reviews highlighting Dr. Choi's humor, care, and technical prowess. Whether addressing complex dentofacial issues, sleep apnea via jaw surgery, or cosmetic enhancements, patients receive not just treatment, but transformative care that enhances both function and appearance. Park Avenue Oral Surgery is the only office that will do your wisdom tooth extraction and consultation in the same visit, which made scheduling around my work hours so much easier. I got a coronectomy and extraction here and the entire procedure took about 2 minutes total. It was painless and the recovery was easy. At its worst, the pain when the anesthesia wore off was a 3 out of 10 and the Ibuprofen they prescribed made it a 0. I was able to go to work the very next day and nobody noticed the swelling because it was so minimal. After only 2 days I was eating regular food again and felt totally back to normal. Highly recommend if you're looking for a smooth extraction.

Did not have a good experience here. I scheduled wisdom teeth extraction took days off of work and they call me and tell me the doctor is actually cancelling and the front desk lady suggests the 31st of October. Okay we pick another day and finally the day comes and I’m awake for the whole thing they just use local anesthetic I am traumatized and the dental assistant seemed like she was in a bad mood and the dentist had to keep repeating instructions to her. At some point the dentist said, “dont worry ill make sure you have lunch today.” I also asked them before if i could keep my wisdom teeth and when i asked for it (only one remained intact) the dental assistant informed me that it was thrown out. After such a traumatizing experience i couldnt even have my tooth AFTER I ASKED! On top of all this as soon as I get home i’m in a world of pain. I informed the dental surgeon that i have a very low pain tolerance and all I got prescribed was antibiotics, mouth wash and tylenol. When i called and asked the front desk for something stronger they said that my PCP had to provide me with a prescription. So i call my PCP and they tell me that because the surgery didnt happen with them they cant. So i call front desk once again and they tell me actually they dont have the license to prescribe anything stronger. First of all the pain was so bad the first two days i cant describe i have never felt anything so terrible. i havent eaten anything since the extraction. It hurts to swallow i could barely even drink water. I cant imagine that people have to go through this with just tylenol? In addition I have heart issues relating to my anxiety and the anxiety that the pain is giving me is so intense and also the feeling of just straight up injustice having MY tooth just thrown out i just feel so mistreated. I honestly feel like i’ve never been so mistreated under the care of a medical institution. Dentist and front desk staff were decent but something felt off. I am not using my real name to post this btw.

I was referred to Park Ave Oral Surgery by my general dentist, who recommended I get a tongue tie release due to TMJ-like symptoms progressively getting worse over the last few years. I called Park Ave Oral Surgery and was booked for the following week. My appointment was at 1PM today, I arrived at 12:45 to leave ample time for paperwork. I did not see the Dr until 2:45PM. I was put in a bare room in the back of the practice with absolutely no updates from any of the staff on timeline. I even asked at one point how much longer I’d have to wait for the procedure, and the dental assistant told me he (the Dr) just had to do one quick consult before coming to me. He decided to do two more consults before making his way over to me (at this point, it’s about two hours after I got there). He comes in the room and basically immediately tells me that he “doesn’t do tongue tie procedures” at this location, only his Long Island practice. He spent no more than 3 minutes with me before leaving, with no apologies for the two hour wait. I would have at least appreciated him sitting down to talk to me about my TMJ pain and ways to alleviate it, or literally ANY form of care to make the frustrating wait worthwhile. I do want to shout out the sweet and respectful receptionist, who gave me water when I was visibly upset and sincerely apologized for the situation. I appreciated her greatly. She explained that my general dentist did not explicitly write the surgery I needed in the referral, and that was why this misunderstanding wasn’t caught beforehand. I’m truly not even upset that I didn’t get the procedure I’ve been waiting for for over three years—what I AM incredibly upset about is that this practice (mainly, the Dr himself) had absolutely no care for my time, nor did he have any care for my pain or symptoms that led me to him in the first place. I have never in my life felt more disrespected by a medical provider. I sincerely hope that this practice puts more effort into updating patients during delays and showing empathy during those moments.

Do not go here under ANY circumstances. From a wisdom teeth surgery, they left me with a scar on my face and a dent which will take thousands of dollars to fix. Others doctors I showed said they did a bad job— do yourself a favor… there are much better surgeons
