About

Progressive Implantology & Periodontics stands as a premier specialty dental practice in Rochester, New York, dedicated exclusively to the health, function, and aesthetics of the supporting structures of the teeth—the gums and jawbone—and the sophisticated art of dental implant restoration. Located at 1655 Elmwood Ave #100 in the vibrant Elmwood Avenue neighborhood, the practice has established itself as a cornerstone of advanced periodontal care and implant dentistry for the Greater Rochester community. Founded on the principle of integrating cutting-edge science with compassionate, personalized care, the practice is led by specialists who are not merely treating conditions but are committed to transforming patients' oral health and, by extension, their overall quality of life and confidence.

The history of Progressive Implantology & Periodontics is rooted in a vision to create a center of excellence that bridges the gap between traditional periodontal therapy and the revolutionary possibilities of modern implantology. The practice was built to address a critical need in the region for a specialist who could manage complex cases of gum disease, bone loss, and tooth replacement with a cohesive, long-term strategy. Over the years, it has evolved from a foundational periodontal practice into a comprehensive implantology center, investing consistently in the latest technology and continuing education to stay at the forefront of a rapidly advancing field. This evolution reflects a deep understanding that saving natural teeth and replacing missing ones are two sides of the same coin, both requiring a mastery of surgical precision and biological principles.

The mission of the practice is unequivocally patient-centered: to provide exceptional, evidence-based specialty care in a comfortable and anxiety-free environment. This mission is driven by a commitment to educating patients, empowering them with knowledge about their conditions and all available treatment options. The team believes that an informed patient is a partner in their own care journey, leading to better outcomes and higher satisfaction. The practice's core values hinge on integrity, clinical excellence, and a genuine dedication to building lasting relationships based on trust and respect.

What truly sets Progressive Implantology & Periodontics apart is its unique dual-specialization focus. While many practices may offer one service or the other, this practice is built on the seamless integration of periodontics and implantology. The specialists are experts in diagnosing and treating all stages of periodontal disease, from gingivitis to severe periodontitis, using therapies like scaling and root planing (SRP), laser-assisted treatments, and regenerative procedures to rebuild lost bone and tissue. Concurrently, they are masters of the complete dental implant process, from advanced bone grafting and sinus lifts to the precise surgical placement of implants and their final restoration. This integrated expertise ensures that the foundation (gums and bone) is healthy and robust before, during, and after implant placement, which is critical for long-term success.

The practice's unique value proposition is further defined by its investment in state-of-the-art technology. Patients benefit from the use of low-dose digital 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging, which provides a detailed, three-dimensional view of the jawbone, nerves, and sinuses for meticulous surgical planning. Intraoral scanners eliminate the discomfort of traditional impressions, and guided implant surgery software allows for minimally invasive, highly accurate procedures with reduced healing times and improved predictability. This technological edge, combined with the surgeons' advanced training in complex full-arch reconstructions like All-on-4® and zygomatic implants, positions the practice as a destination for patients seeking solutions for even the most challenging cases of tooth loss.

Ultimately, Progressive Implantology & Periodontics distinguishes itself through a culture of care that treats the whole person, not just a set of teeth. The team understands the anxiety that can surround surgical dental procedures and has meticulously designed every aspect of the patient experience to alleviate fear, from a calming office atmosphere to clear communication and sedation options. Their commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and a holistic approach to oral-systemic health makes them not just providers of a service, but trusted partners in their patients' lifelong health and wellness journey in Rochester and beyond.

I always feel like I am in expert hands when I visit. I have had laser gum surgery, as well as regular maintenance visits. I come away with helpful tips and information every time, and feel that there is a genuine interest in me as a person and not just another patient. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who needs periodontal care and advice.

Hi, Dr. Josue Padilla was the treating professional who removed my teeth from the lower jaw and inserted implants. He was very kind and patient when explaining the procedure. During the process he checked with me frequently to make sure I wasn't experiencing any pain or other discomfort. I am a retired Registered Nurse and I was very impressed with my post-op care to make sure there weren't any problems developing. Dr. Gretchen Palmer was the other Doctor who was involved. She is off Winton Road in Rochester, NY. Her involvement was to make the post-op interim denture while the implants healed and the final implant retained dentures. Between the two of them, this was an excellent experience. The final outcome is that my lower teeth feel like my own and I forget that they are in my mouth. The staff at both offices was professional, personable and very helpful and empathized with me. Both Doctors called me to see how I was doing. This Friday, I am having the uppers removed and going through the same process. It was such a positive experience the first time; I'm not the least bit concerned. Linda

I have been a patient of the practice (Dr. Goel) for several years. He is a wonderfully kind and compassionate doctor. I trust him 100%. He corrected a problem that was intricate with no guarantees. So far, so good. The staff are professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Progressive Implantology Periodontics.

Everyone did an outstanding job leading into my tooth removal: polite, professional, prompt and my one question 2 days following the surgery was handled promptly. I was a bit surprised there was not a followup phone call the day following my surgery. That might be a good thing to consider adding to your customer service followup. Thanks so much. Cost for replacing the permanent tooth was prohibitive on our fixed income and insurance doesn't touch it--which is surprising since quality of life is impact by how we feel, look and are able to chew our food. Thanks so much.
