I had a very frustrating experience with the billing and administrative practices at this office.
My wisdom tooth extractions were billed under ADA code D7210, which is used for surgical extractions involving bone removal and/or sectioning. However, my teeth were fully erupted, removed with local anesthesia only, and no bone removal or sectioning was performed. Based on the procedure, this appeared inconsistent with the treatment I received and raised concerns about billing accuracy.
In addition, I was instructed to mail my own insurance claim, despite being told beforehand that no action would be required on my part. The mailed claim was never received by the insurer, delaying reimbursement for months. This was especially concerning given that the office submits its own claims electronically, while requiring patients to use mail.
Requiring patients to mail claims while submitting office claims electronically creates unnecessary barriers to insurance review and places all administrative risk on the patient. I recommend confirming billing codes and claim submission methods in writing before proceeding with treatment.
As a first time patient, I had a terrible experience at this dentist's office. They seem more focused on charging customers to "keep their lights on" rather than billing insurance properly for routine cleanings. Despite completing all the necessary forms ahead of time, they waited until I arrived for my appointment to ask me to sign a form outlining what I would be financially responsible for before even submitting a claim to my insurance company.
To make matters worse, I’ve never paid over $100 for a routine cleaning before, and I was shocked and highly offended by the unexpected charges. I had to take time off work for this nonsense, and it was a complete waste of my time.
I strongly advise others to avoid this office. Their practices are unprofessional, and they don’t prioritize their patients’ needs. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
