About

Tend Dental Rockefeller Center, located at 12 W 48th St 4th Floor, New York, NY 10036, represents the epitome of modern dentistry in one of Manhattan's most vibrant hubs. As part of the innovative Tend Dental network, this studio redefines the dental experience by blending cutting-edge technology, compassionate care, and a spa-like atmosphere that eliminates the dread typically associated with dental visits. Launched around 2019-2020 amid a wave of digital transformation in healthcare, Tend Dental emerged with a bold mission: to empower patients to feel confident in their oral health every time they eat, laugh, smile, or speak. From its inception, Tend has challenged the outdated stereotypes of dental offices—dimly lit rooms with rusty clipboards and endless waiting—by pioneering a tech-forward approach that prioritizes convenience, transparency, and patient comfort.[2][3]

The history of Tend Dental is rooted in a visionary effort to reinvent dentistry through technology and patient-centric design. Just a year and a half after its initial launch, Tend introduced the first-ever dental app, a groundbreaking milestone that streamlined booking, rescheduling, insurance verification, and treatment planning. This app allows patients to select appointments in seconds, update personal details effortlessly, and even choose preferences like polishing paste flavors or Netflix shows for their visit. At Rockefeller Center, this innovation manifests in a seamless experience where minimal paperwork and no lobby waits are the norm, making dental care accessible even for those who haven't visited a dentist in years.[1][3]

Tend's mission extends beyond routine cleanings to foster lifelong oral health confidence. Their philosophy centers on 'only the care you need,' delivering evidence-based treatments without pressure or upsells. Dentists explain recommendations clearly, focusing on future wellness rather than quick fixes. This judgment-free environment welcomes everyone, regardless of how long it's been since their last checkup, creating a soothing space designed around how patients want to feel—relaxed, informed, and valued.[2][7]

Services at Tend Rockefeller Center encompass a comprehensive suite tailored to diverse needs: family dental care, thorough exams, professional hygiene cleanings, emergency care for urgent issues, restorative options like dental implants, bridges, crowns, and fillings, cosmetic enhancements such as veneers and teeth whitening, and orthodontic solutions including clear aligners. Patients rave about the modern facility, where they can watch entertainment during procedures, receive detailed teeth scans, and leave with post-treatment guidance via the app.[1][4]

What sets Tend apart is its unique value proposition: a fusion of luxury, efficiency, and expertise in a thoughtfully designed studio. Unlike traditional practices with sterile, anxiety-inducing setups, Tend's Rockefeller Center location boasts bright, clean spaces with welcoming greetings on monitors, courteous staff, and amenities that evoke a spa visit. Hygienists and dentists, like those praised in reviews for their kindness and clarity (e.g., Katie and Dr. Parker), prioritize comfort, explaining every step without rushing or pushing unnecessary services. The practice accepts insurance, provides upfront cost estimates, and ensures punctual, painless visits—often described as the 'best dental experience ever.'[1][2]

Expertise shines through in their commitment to sophisticated treatment planning, now digitized for easy access and adherence. Whether restoring damaged teeth with crowns and bridges or maintaining braces hygiene, Tend treats dentistry as an investment in self-confidence. Professionalism is evident in glowing testimonials: modern offices, friendly teams, and outcomes that inspire return visits. In a city like New York, where convenience is king, Tend Rockefeller Center stands out by making high-quality care feel effortless and enjoyable, proving that dental health can—and should—feel good every step of the way. This studio not only repairs smiles but rebuilds trust in dentistry, positioning itself as the go-to destination for busy professionals and families seeking exceptional, no-nonsense care in the heart of Rockefeller Center.[1][2][3][4]

My hygienist Katrina gave me the most gentle and through cleaning. I’m usually sensitive to the cleanings but I didn’t feel a thing. The check in and check out process at the welcome bar with Jaison was smooth and quick.

Took me in as an emergency patient to replace two broken temporaries. They were well prepared, thorough in their treatment explanations, and very kind. Fixed my temporaries fast and had me on my way. Office was modern, clean, and high-tech. Great place.

Review for Tend Dental/Dr. Sabrina Syed UPDATE: Dr. Syed reached out to me explaining her stepwise approach for her recommendations and next steps, which make sense, and expressing that she does not wish for her patients to experience pain. She also explained that the receptionist was newer and that the out of pocket charge was in error. Appreciate her stepping in to resolve this issue with the office! ORIGINAL: Similar to some other reviewers, I had a disappointing experience at Tend Dental with Dr. Sabrina Syed. She filled a cavity for me a couple months ago and I have been experiencing some pain ever since, with my floss catching on the area, so I called Tend to ask whether this was normal. The receptionists told me it was not normal to experience pain and recommended I come in soon; I specifically asked whether the visit would be covered by insurance, and I was assured that it was. On the day of the visit itself, I took time off work. After describing my issue to the hygienist I essentially sat there for close to half an hour after she took two x rays. Dr. Syed, when she made her way over to me, came across as quite dismissive and impatient. She quickly assessed the filling area and said that the filling looked fine and essentially told me to floss more, which would fix the issue. I felt embarrassed and confused at her lack of sympathy for the pain I was experiencing and my concerns with the shredding floss- it felt like I had to convince her that I was feeling pain which is, in my opinion, the worst thing a healthcare provider can do to a patient. When I exited the room after approximately five minutes of back and forth, the receptionist surprised me by saying the visit would no longer be covered by insurance since, when the dentist saw me for five minutes, it turned from an office visit to a limited treatment and I’d have to pay out of pocket. I asked her why no one communicated this change to me when I had made the appointment and specifically asked about insurance, or during the visit (where I spent most of my time sitting on a chair waiting) and she did not have an answer for me. This was disappointing because historically I had a great impression of Tend’s transparency and competency with insurance-related matters, and this visit showed me its true colors.

Review for Tend Dental (Dr. Sabrina Syed) My experience at Tend Dental with Dr. Sabrina Syed was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely disrespected and dismissed. Dr. Syed’s attitude toward me was rude, disrespectful, and distasteful the kind of behavior you would never expect from someone in a healthcare profession. Instead of showing care or concern, she came across as impatient and condescending. I tried to ask questions and explain my concerns about my treatment, but she brushed me off as if my comfort and understanding didn’t matter. The tone she used was uncalled for, and it made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable during the entire visit. Dental visits can already be stressful, but the lack of professionalism made it ten times worse. I left feeling disrespected, unheard, and regretful that I chose this office. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect especially in a medical setting where patients put their trust in their provider. I would not recommend Tend Dental or Dr. Sabrina Syed to anyone looking for a respectful, patient-centered experience. There are plenty of other dental offices that treat people with the care and professionalism they deserve.

It was a deeply disappointing and unacceptable experience. I’ve been going to this location since 2022 and had a great experience until about a year ago. Every time I see the doctor it’s some one new each time which I hate, one time I was getting my buttons removed for my Invisalign and it was a differently person, she also wanted to do a filling before my retainer and I said NO! I didn’t like how she removed the buttons from my teeth and I did not want her to do my fillings, I wanted my original doctor but unfortunately not working there anymore, they I told the to give me the referring doctor and again she also left. The last 2 visits I was there well in advance before my appointment, they took me to the room and both times I had to wait 40 min in the room. No one came to check on me and I had to walk out like am I going to be seen? I left work for my appointments and it’s disrespectful to have a patient waiting in a room for that long without coming to tell them of any delays, etc. I thought the next visit for a filling would be better but I was wrong again I had to wait, I even mentioned what a bad experience I had last time and they didn’t even take it into consideration. I am not going back. What a shame.
