About

Tribeca North Dentistry, located at 78 Laight St in the heart of New York City's vibrant Tribeca neighborhood, stands as a premier destination for pediatric dental care, dedicated to delivering exceptional oral health services to children of all ages. Led by the highly skilled Dr. Elizabeth (Ela) Persico, DMD, a board-certified pediatric dentist, this practice has established itself as a trusted partner in families' dental journeys, combining clinical expertise with a nurturing, child-friendly environment that transforms routine visits into positive experiences. While specific founding dates are not publicly detailed, Tribeca North Dentistry has built a reputation over years of service in one of Manhattan's most dynamic communities, drawing on the extensive professional background of Dr. Persico to offer specialized care tailored to the unique needs of young patients.

The mission of Tribeca North Dentistry is rooted in preventive, compassionate dentistry that prioritizes early intervention and long-term oral health. Dr. Persico and her team believe that establishing good dental habits from infancy sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. This philosophy is evident in their approach, which emphasizes gentle techniques, clear communication with both children and parents, and a commitment to minimizing anxiety during treatments. The practice's beautiful, welcoming office space in Tribeca—designed with playful elements, comfortable seating, and a calming ambiance—sets it apart from traditional dental clinics, creating an atmosphere where kids feel excited rather than fearful about their appointments.

Services at Tribeca North Dentistry encompass a full spectrum of pediatric dentistry, from routine cleanings and exams to more complex procedures. Core offerings include comprehensive oral examinations, fluoride treatments, sealants, and cavity fillings, all adapted for children's developing teeth and jaws. The practice excels in managing common pediatric issues such as tooth decay, gum disease, and alignment concerns, with Dr. Persico's dual expertise in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics allowing for seamless integration of orthodontic evaluations and early interventions like space maintainers or habit-breaking appliances. For children with special needs or dental phobias, customized sedation options and behavioral management strategies ensure comfort and safety. Emergency care is also available, addressing accidents like chipped or knocked-out teeth promptly to prevent long-term complications.

What truly distinguishes Tribeca North Dentistry is Dr. Persico's profound expertise and patient-centered focus. As a pediatric dentist, she brings specialized training in child psychology, growth and development, and advanced techniques for treating the 'most challenging cases,' as highlighted in practice descriptions. Her experience spans infants through adolescents, including those with medical complexities or behavioral challenges, making her a go-to professional in a city full of high-caliber dental options. The practice's unique value proposition lies in its holistic approach: not just treating teeth, but fostering family education on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care. Parents appreciate the convenience of online booking through platforms like Zocdoc, flexible scheduling—including same-week availability—and a location that's easily accessible in lower Manhattan.

In a competitive landscape where general dentists often handle pediatric cases without specialized training, Tribeca North Dentistry sets itself apart through its exclusive focus on children. Unlike multi-specialty practices that may dilute attention, this boutique clinic ensures every visit is optimized for young patients, with staff trained specifically in pediatric protocols. The emphasis on a 'beautiful environment' enhances the experience, incorporating modern technology like digital X-rays for reduced radiation and faster diagnostics, alongside eco-friendly practices that resonate with Tribeca's conscious community. Dr. Persico's dedication is further reflected in her active engagement with families, providing personalized care plans that evolve with each child's growth stages—from teething toddlers to braces-bound teens.

Tribeca North Dentistry's commitment extends beyond the chair, promoting community wellness through educational resources and partnerships that underscore their role as leaders in pediatric oral health. What sets them apart is this blend of medical precision, emotional intelligence, and aesthetic appeal, resulting in rave reviews for pain-free visits and lasting results. For New York families seeking a dentist who treats their children like their own, Tribeca North Dentistry delivers unparalleled expertise, innovation, and warmth, ensuring every smile is bright, healthy, and confident. I just took my toddler for his first dentist visit and was absolutely blown away. Dr. Cheryl is incredibly gifted and amazing with children. I was so impressed and grateful. The visit was easy, fun, and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I did a ton of research before picking a pediatric dentist, and Tribeca North Dentistry (especially Dr. Cheryl) did not disappoint!

Dr. Ta is an extremely talented pediatric orthodontist. I brought my two children to her based on the recommendation of our close family friends who have three children who are also happy patients. Dr. Ta is extremely observant and thoughtful. She approached treatment for each child based not only on their teeth and their stage of development, but also on their personalities. She knew which one would do better with braces and which would be fine with Invisalign. She knew how to manage one child's fear of dentists and doctors and worked closely with Dr. Ella to remove the teeth necessary to get the best results. Dr. Ta earned our trust, especially the trust of my fearful child. She showed us the x-rays that showed the incoming adult teeth that were starting to cause my daughter's straight front teeth to splay and explained that the sooner we removed the baby teeth that were slow to fall out, the less intervention she would need with braces or Invisalign. Because my daughter was afraid to have teeth removed, we delayed the procedure while she tried to wiggle out the teeth herself. When she was finally brave enough to have the teeth removed (which was beautifully handled by Dr. Ella and a non-issue), we could immediately see the front teeth begin to come back together. My daughter said, "Mom, when Dr. Ta says we should do something, we should do it right away next time" - this from the last person on earth I would ever expect to agree to a tooth extraction! My younger child was a more complex case. Dr. Ta could see that she would need a palate expander by 1st or 2nd grade. She also knew that my daughter would do best with a removable palate expander so that she could keep her teeth as clean as possible, and the results were stunning. Because she still had teeth to lose, expanding her palate early on helped her adult teeth come in without over crowding. Once she had braces, Dr. Ta patiently waited for remaining teeth to fall out/grow in, while holding space for them. Dr. Ta was quick to realize that some of the baby molars were not falling out as expected but were instead beginning to sink into the gum. Luckily, we were able to remove those teeth before they caused an issue for the surrounding teeth or worse began to fuse to the bone. Again, the extraction was super easy, since they were baby teeth. My daughter is thrilled with how her teeth look so far, and she quite likes picking out the color of her bands on her braces each visit. Along the way, I decided to get my teeth straightened... again... as my teeth had became crowded despite lots of orthodontic intervention as a teenager. I wish I had had an orthodontist like Dr. Ta back then! Dr. Ta is talented, kind and patient (especially with adults who are not perfect with wearing their Invisaligns... ehem). All three of are very happy patients. I couldn't recommend her more.

I have been coming to Dr. Ta since I was 5 years old. I am back for Invisalign as an adult and I couldn’t be happier. I never want to stop seeing her! There is no one kinder or more knowledgeable! I highly recommend using her as your orthodontist!

Our family has had a wonderful experience with Tribeca North Dentistry, and in particular, with Dr. Ta. Dr. Ta has great bedside manners and made our 3-year-old daughter feel quite comfortable with a difficult situation (crossbite). We also highly commend Dr. Ta for telling us to start the palette expander at the early age of 3; it has worked quite well and quickly fixed her cross-bite!

I had such a wonderful experience at Tribeca North Dentistry. I was slightly nervous about using Invisalign and rubber bands but Dr.Ta did a great job educating me on why this was necessary to fix my teeth. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking to get Invisalign. Thank you Dr.Ta, I love my smile!
