About

Nestled in the historic and family-friendly neighborhood of Tribeca in Lower Manhattan, Tribeca Pediatric Dentistry stands as a premier, child-centric dental practice dedicated exclusively to the oral health of infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs. Located at 109 Reade Street, the practice is built on a foundational philosophy that a positive first dental experience sets the tone for a lifetime of healthy habits and minimizes dental anxiety. More than just a dental office, it is a welcoming, modern, and intentionally designed environment where every element—from the décor to the communication style—is tailored to make young patients feel safe, engaged, and even excited about their visit.

The practice's mission is to provide the highest standard of compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based pediatric dental care in a fun and supportive atmosphere. This mission is driven by the understanding that pediatric dentistry is a unique specialty requiring not only advanced clinical skills but also expertise in child psychology, behavior guidance, and growth and development. The team at Tribeca Pediatric Dentistry believes in a proactive, prevention-focused approach, empowering both children and parents with the knowledge and tools necessary to maintain optimal oral health at home. They view themselves as partners with families, working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for every child's smile.

What truly sets Tribeca Pediatric Dentistry apart is its profound commitment to a patient-first experience in a field that can often be intimidating for children. The office is a world away from a sterile, clinical setting. Instead, it features a bright, playful, and calming environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology that is used in a child-friendly manner. The doctors and staff are specially trained in techniques such as "Tell-Show-Do," positive reinforcement, and distraction, which help build trust and cooperation. For children who require more support, the practice is adept at providing safe and effective options for sedation dentistry, including nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") and in-office general anesthesia, always with a board-certified anesthesiologist present, ensuring the utmost safety and comfort for complex cases or highly anxious patients.

Their expertise covers the full spectrum of pediatric dental needs. This includes preventive care like cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants, as well as restorative procedures using tooth-colored materials, pulp therapy for primary teeth, and management of dental emergencies. A significant aspect of their specialization is early orthodontic evaluation, monitoring growth and development to identify potential issues with jaw alignment or crowding, and providing interceptive guidance when appropriate. The practice also places a strong emphasis on infant oral health, following the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's recommendation that a child's first dental visit should occur by their first birthday, establishing a 'dental home' early on.

The unique value proposition of Tribeca Pediatric Dentistry lies in its seamless blend of top-tier clinical excellence, a deeply empathetic and child-focused environment, and a convenient, full-service location. In a city like New York, where parents seek the best possible care for their children, the practice distinguishes itself through its dedicated specialization (as opposed to general family dentistry), its modern, anxiety-reducing office design, and its transparent, communicative approach with parents. The doctors are not only clinicians but also educators, taking time to explain conditions and treatments thoroughly. This holistic, compassionate, and highly specialized model of care ensures that children not only receive the best dental treatment available but also develop a positive attitude toward oral health that will benefit them for decades to come.

Great experience, the dentist was friendly and gentle. They started on time. My son loved being able to pick a show on Netflix and that the TV was directly above the chair which helped us get through entire visit without any complaints!

Dentist canceled our kids’ appointment last minute for unclear reasons. Then they were inflexible in offering alternative appointment times that would work for us. And finally after lots of back and forth to reschedule they said dental insurance would no longer be accepted (they’ve accepted our delta dental plan for years). Now it’s $435 upfront per kid for a basic short checkup.

Over the course of a year, this place charged over $400 for my daughter's dental check up when co-pay should be $50 (for both in network and out of network). This happened 2 times. They claimed that they will file a claim for reimbursement and never got that either.
