About
The Woodward Health Center, situated at 480 Genesee Street in the heart of Rochester, New York, stands as a pillar of comprehensive and accessible healthcare for the city's diverse and vibrant communities. Operating as a vital part of the broader Rochester Regional Health system—one of the region's most extensive integrated healthcare networks—the center embodies a deep, decades-long commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered medical services. Its location in the 14611 zip code places it strategically to serve a wide demographic, from families and working professionals to seniors and underserved populations, all within a facility designed to be a convenient, one-stop destination for health and wellness. The center's history is intrinsically linked to the evolution of community healthcare in Rochester, growing from a neighborhood clinic into a modern, full-service outpatient facility that addresses both acute and chronic health needs while emphasizing preventive care and health education. The mission of Woodward Health Center is unequivocally rooted in the Rochester Regional Health pledge to empower healthier lives and build healthier communities. This translates into a practice philosophy that treats each patient not as a collection of symptoms, but as a whole person, considering their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The center’s providers and staff are driven by a core belief that equitable access to compassionate, expert care is a fundamental right, not a privilege. This mission manifests in extended hours, multilingual support services, and a proactive approach to managing chronic diseases prevalent in the community, such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. What truly sets Woodward Health Center apart is its seamless integration within the Rochester Regional Health ecosystem. This affiliation provides patients with unparalleled access to a vast network of specialists, advanced diagnostic technologies, and hospital services, all while maintaining the personalized, familiar feel of a neighborhood practice. A patient's electronic health record is shared securely across the network, ensuring coordinated care whether they are seeing their primary care physician at Woodward, a cardiologist at Rochester General Hospital, or receiving lab work at a nearby RRH facility. This integrated model eliminates fragmented care, reduces medical errors, and provides a continuity that is rare in today's often-siloed healthcare landscape. The center’s expertise is broad, anchored by a team of board-certified family medicine and internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and medical assistants who bring a wealth of collective experience. Their clinical proficiency is matched by a cultural competency and deep understanding of the specific health disparities and social determinants of health affecting the Rochester area. The center often serves as a patient's medical home, the first point of contact for all health concerns, and the coordinator for any necessary specialist care. Furthermore, its unique value proposition lies in its combination of comprehensive scope, systemic support, and community-focused delivery. It is not merely a doctor's office but a health hub that may offer integrated behavioral health consultations, nutrition counseling, and robust care management for complex patients. This holistic approach, backed by the resources of a major regional health system, positions the Woodward Health Center as a critical and trusted healthcare partner dedicated to improving health outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for every individual and family it serves in Rochester.

Customer Reviews
Wait time was long but everyone was very kind and I had come in for an emergency - severe tooth pain - and the doctor already had several other scheduled patients. She took a moment away from one of them to talk to me quickly and let me know as thoroughly as possible what she thought was going on, prescribe me pain medicine, let me know what else would help and write me a quick referral to get teeth extracted at Strong. She was very kind and made sure I understood the steps before leaving!
Some of the Dr's are great but the receptionists suck. I can call and be on hold for almost an hour as the first caller in queue before getting hung up. I leave messages in the app with no reply. I get marked as a no show because I can't cancel an appt but no one ever answers or calls back so I can explain. They schedule the appt for you at the end of your visit and bring it in with a piece of paper without my input on days or times and as someone with 5 or more appts a week this just doesn't work for me. It seems the nurses are overworked doing what the receptionist should be doing.
I have been calling this place and no answer. I pay for my own insurance and the assistance is terrible. There are long waits, especially from the physicians. I have been diagnosed wrongly after blood test result have returned to physician.
Terrible receptionist she drops the call on purpose after waiting on hold for a hour. They don't call back and eventually let u wait on hold until the after hour answering service picks up ..and she sounds so disinterested in her job. Clearly everyone has experienced the same thing with this individual it's not a good look for the company. Help can't be that hard to find.
They NEVER answer the phone. I was in the "queue" and kept getting a recording saying "You are caller #1" for 45 minutes. I can't tell you how many times I've gone into this terrible place for an appointment and waited over two hours for my doctor only to be told they can't see me that day. I had to use my own personal time at work, wait over a month for my appointment and get nothing out of it. It's absurd. Please don't waste your time with this awful awful place.
