About

Yes Dental Urgent Care, located at 1420 St Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10033, stands as a dedicated dental practice committed to delivering accessible, high-quality oral healthcare to the diverse communities of Upper Manhattan. Operating under the legal entity YES DENTAL OF NY, PLLC, this establishment has been serving patients since at least 2011, as indicated by its website copyright, positioning it as a longstanding fixture in the neighborhood with over 15 years of experience by 2026. The practice's mission revolves around the core belief that everyone deserves a bright, beautiful, and healthy smile, encapsulated in their 'Yes Smile' philosophy, which emphasizes preservation and enhancement of oral health for thousands of patients. This commitment is reflected in their pain-free approach, where a team of board-certified dentists prioritizes gentle, compassionate care to ensure comfortable and relaxed experiences, even for those with dental anxiety or urgent needs[1][5].

At the heart of Yes Dental's services is a comprehensive range of general dentistry and specialized periodontal care, catering to both routine maintenance and emergency treatments. Specializing in dentistry and periodontics, the practice is staffed by nine experienced physicians, including notable professionals such as Dr. Ella Dekhtyar, Dr. Boris Rubinstein, Dr. Inna Sapozhnikova, Dr. Baruch Tetri, Dr. Dimitriy Volotsenko, Dr. Dmitriy Y. Volotsenko, Dr. Kathryn Leigh Wilson, and Dr. Sergey Yangolenko. These experts bring a wealth of knowledge to address everything from preventive check-ups and cleanings to complex procedures like root canals, extractions, and gum disease treatments. Their urgent care focus makes them particularly adept at handling dental emergencies, with a dedicated hotline (1-800-326-2770) promising swift specialist access[2][4][5].

What sets Yes Dental apart is its unwavering dedication to accessibility and inclusivity. In a city where dental care can often be prohibitively expensive, Yes Dental accepts Medicaid alongside most major insurance plans, including Aetna DPPO, Cigna DPPO Advantage, Delta Dental PPO and Premier, United Healthcare Dental PPO, United Concordia plans, and many others—over 30 in total. For uninsured patients, affordable payment options are available to fit various budgets, democratizing access to professional dental services. This unique value proposition resonates strongly in the Washington Heights area, where the practice shares space with other local businesses like Hip of NY and Bfamily Eye Care, fostering a community-oriented healthcare hub[2][5].

The expertise of Yes Dental's board-certified team is complemented by modern practices aimed at pain minimization and patient comfort, distinguishing them from traditional dental offices that may overlook the emotional aspects of treatment. Patient testimonials highlight their ability to eradicate pain effectively, with one reviewer praising the doctors for transformative care that alleviated lifelong dental suffering. While the practice has faced criticism in some reviews regarding organization, wait times, and service quality—such as reports of unprofessionalism or incomplete treatments—their emphasis on a 'pain-free approach' and broad insurance acceptance continues to draw those seeking reliable urgent care[1].

Yes Dental's history traces back to its establishment as a patient-centered PLLC, registered with NPI #1629336664, evolving into a go-to destination for urgent dental needs in New York. Their online presence, including a user-friendly contact form for appointments and dreams-sharing inquiries, underscores a proactive engagement with patients, promising responses within 24 hours. The dentists are wonderful I believe they are hiring just about anyone right now. You have staff That will schedule you to come in on a day they are closed,go figure. Then you get back and realize they are not ready for covid. No reason the wait times exceed 3 hrs with a scheduled time to be in. How the receptionist have her mask off, yet has Face Mask Required sign up fir the public? 5 hrs later and then you are requested to understand “appointments are made for show. You only get seen if you act out of control or speak the same language. How is a person asking fir a business card ,but no one is available to assist. The sad part is due to the pandemic order is sometimes hard to find. At the end of the day, once you are paid attention to and worked on,you feel as if you are at the best place ever. Go figure

Well, I'm going to share my experience. I arrived at 6:30 in the morning, waiting in line outside. I left at 2:00 in the afternoon. The wait time is incredibly long. Then they bring you into the doctor's office, and you have to wait two hours for the dentist. I went to get a tooth pulled, and twice the anesthetic wore off, and they had to put it back on while I waited for the dentist. And the staff is pretty nasty. That's my opinion. I hope they improve.

i do not recommend this dentist office at all !!!! So let me start by saying this last month I called them asking if I can make an appointment with them for a fill-in & I told them my name & that it should be in their system because I’ve been there before. The receptionist told me that I can just walk in but just make sure I’m here by 8 in the morning I went over there for no reason because not only their doors wasn’t open at 8 in the morning I also didn’t get seen. I’m just confused on how you tell me to come in at 8 in the morning and doors don’t open till almost 9 in the morning. So when I get upstairs I speak to one of the receptionist saying who I am and why I’m here today and also I don’t have an appointment but I spoke to someone already and they told me I can walk in. She asks me why am I here I tell her for a fill-in she tells me that they only do fill-in Tuesdays & Thrusdays I came in on a Monday so I told her okay so book me in for tomorrow and she said oh we don’t have any space I can book you for next month I was super annoyed but I said okay just book me for next month. So she booked me for November 19th at 10 in the morning. Yesterday November 18th I was waiting for a call to see if they were going to call me to confirm my appointment and they didn’t so I had to call them. When I spoke to someone I said who I am and why am I calling and when she asked for my name and I told her she ended up telling me “are you sure you have an appointment with us tomorrow ?” I told her yes and I explained to her what happened last month so she said okay I’ll see you tomorrow. At that point I was wondering to myself why would she ask me am I sure ? Today November 19th I made it to my appointment & let me tell you I’ve never been to a place that was very unprofessional with their time. I did not get seen until 1:32 in the afternoon, how is it that my appointment is for 10 in the morning and I don't get seen till 1:32 in the afternoon. I feel like if you make an appointment for a specific time you should been seen at that time no later than 30 minutes. I’m not really a big complainer but I was just annoyed that I showed up on time for my appointment to then be seen three hours later. And it's not like they did an x-ray on me and then tell me to sit down and wait till they'll call me again. I was literally sitting down for three hours going back and forth asking the receptionist when will I be next and she ended up telling me that there is four people ahead of me which was fine but then two hours later she said I have two people ahead of me and that’s just insane and then finally she told me you’re up next and I get seen. My appointment today was just a fill-in it wasn’t even a big deal but it definitely did not take more than an hour for my fill-in today It only took 30 minutes for me to be done, but it's just insane to me that I had to wait three hours just for a fill-in when my appointment was for 10 in the morning, not 1:32 in the afternoon. I would not be coming here anymore after today the waiting time was just crazy to me, if I schedule for a time to be seen I should be getting seen not 3 hours later.

These are perhaps the worst group of people to go to. I have never been subjected to such treacherous conditions in a dental office as i have here. Once you walk in, everything seems wonderful. They have a lovely young lady sitting in the front desk. She is very polite but does not seem to have any idea as to what is going on, but at least she is nice. When i first looked up this office before going, i saw the reviews and said "this must be a nice place to get some needed work done," the reviews were full of compliments, raving about the beautiful set up of the office and how quickly each patient was addressed. When i first walked in, the office was still under construction, even though the picture online show a finish product. I did not mind that the office was under construction, what i did mind was what happened next. I had made an appointment for 1pm and arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. i signed in, sat down and waited but after waiting for about an hour for an appointment i got up to ask what was going on. i could not understand how an appointment was made and i was made to wait an hour. i was told to be patient and the dentist would be with me in a few minutes but this time another hour had gone by ( its now 3pm). As i was getting ready to leave i was finally called in. I met with an old Russian man named Dr. Alex. He did not introduce himself, just started working. i assumed he knew what i came in but felt uneasy so i asked what he would be doing. He did not respond, instead his assistant told me what would be happening. He was quite rough completing the job but i did not mind as long as the job was done correctly. He completed the job and i left in a lot of pain but at least the job was complete. By the way, i came in for a root canal and to have a crown put in. Root canal was done. i made another appointment a month later to begin working on the crown and the same thing happened yet again, i was made to wait this time for 3 hours until i said enough was enough and finally left. I made another appointment, waited another 2 hours until i was finally seen. Dr. Alex was going to be putting in the crown; again, he did not respond to me and again his assistant informed me on what was happening. As he was putting the crown in, i kept telling him that it was not sitting well but instead of fixing the issue brought to his attention, he brushed me off and just said he will see me in a couple of weeks. Walked out and left me in the room. Feeling like the job was not done properly and feeling unheard i reached out to the office manager but could not get in touch. So here i am writing a review. Horrible service, worse facility and waiting time is the worst. DO NOT GO HERE!!

This place is horrible. The only good thing about this place are the workers. But when it comes to the dentist and the Manager they are the absolute worse. Starting with the dentist, they arrive very late, the doors open at 9am and they dentist tend to arrive after 10am. Once the dentist is their they jump from table to table helping different people. Now when it comes to management she is a complete racist. I've tried talking to her and she turned around and said i dont speak Spanish as I'm talking English to her. I'm a new york Native i speak english. But for a MANAGER to turn her back on a customer is super disrespectful, i have never in my life felt discriminated and was in complete shock because she works in 181st the homeland of spanish speaking people.
