I brought my two month old to Dr. Kotlow - on the recommendation of my midwife, lactation counselor, and pediatric speech specialist - after determining she had milk transfer issues and probable oral ties. It was incredibly emotional and traumatic to do so. There is little time spent and videos to watch. You cannot feed the baby for sometime before so she was crying. It was hard. HOWEVER, I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Kotlow. His procedure was excellent and my daughter healed extremely well with all the appropriate stretches and oral therapy. His work truly saved our breastfeeding relationship. (I had been triple feeding before and she quickly became a exclusively breastfed baby.) His passion for breastfeeding and supporting the mother-baby dyad is evident in his work. On post-op evaluation we had a very nice conversation about his journey to this work and his dedication to helping babies. I am so glad we came here and would recommend him highly. Also, the clove oil you make has been the perfect teething remedy. Thank you Dr. Kotlow!
Dr. Kotlow did my son's tongue tie revision back in 2018 as a newborn, and he's grown wonderfully since then. I'm writing my review over 7 years later because I just had my newborn daughter's tongue and upper lip tie revised and I'm remembering and using the stretching techniques that he taught me! Plus the office I brought her to reveres Dr. Kotlow as the best of the best, and we're all the way out in Colorado now. I just wanted to share my great experience! 😊
Dr. Kotlow was fantastic. We were able to get right in when we inquired about our little being lip tied. He answered all of our questions, made me feel as ease with what was happening, and made sure we were good after the procedure. Highly recommend!!!
Dr. Kotlow is a genius who found three oral tethers in our infant daughter and fixed them immediately. Thank you Dr. Kotlow, for your excellence in care!
Moral of the story: find someone who actually likes working around kids because Dt. Kotlow clearly doesn’t like children, or people in general really. Dr. Kotlow was my pediatric dentist and as an adult I still struggle with going to the dentist because of him. The dental assistants would do 90% of the work and then come in, spend 2 minutes checking my teeth way more aggressively and caused pain. I remember being in so much pain at one point crying, and nobody would tell me what was going on or help calm me down. I would dread having to get a cavity because Dr. Kotlow would make it a much more strap experience than it needed to be. I was a child. He couldn’t have been ruder. And it’s tough for children because (at least when I was a child) he wouldn’t allow parents to be in the room, which I understand to an extent. It’s tough being a kid and feeling like somethings wrong, and you feel like you’re just “throwing a temper tantrum” rather than parents seeing the actual pain and stress Dr. Kotlow caused. My favorite part is I saw him out in public and told him he was my childhood dentist. He rolled his eyes and made a comment that he’s always bothered by patients in public. Overall, there are plenty of dentists in the 518 and some will actually treat your child like a human and not a dollar sign.
