I was very impressed with St. Peter’s Emergency Dept when I went the first week of June for some concerning health symptoms. I was VERY nervous, as I hate going to the Doctor’s office and suffer from White Coat Syndrome. I had to talk myself into walking through the ER doors. I almost left. I finally went in. Each and every staff member from the moment I walked in until I was discharged was so kind, professional, and caring. I waited for maybe 10 minutes before triage called me back. The triage nurse understood that I was very nervous and allowed me to calm down before taking my vitals. She was very kind and sweet and helped me to feel like I wasn't alone in my fear. My nurse, Max, was awesome. He was very professional, efficient, hard working, and kind. Never once was there any goofing off or dilly dally. He took care of me and all his patients with such flow and grace. The patient care technicians also were very sweet, caring, and understanding of my anxiety. They didn't judge me or make me feel bad. The PA Decaprio was SO sweet and incredibly gentle. She was reassuring and informative. The transport staff were excellent and the CT technician was kind and informative. The entire time I was in the ER I was informed of the next step. I didnt mind patiently waiting. Each and every nurse, PCT, doctor/PA, and staff member appeared chill (as in not stressed out), knowledgeable, and competent. I am very impressed with St. Peter’s ER. I do not leave reviews for anything. This time I felt like I had to.
Staff was amazing. My nurse was young, but she seemed like she had been doing this her whole life and treated me with utmost respect! My doctor was great as well. She ordered tests right away and was out within a few hours. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable in a very vulnerable situation.
My doctor was really thorough and listened great dr . I may need to go back unfortunately still having an issue. However the wait times are the worst in the country at all capital region hospital average er visit is 8 to ten maybe more hours the dr was great however the hospital itself weather understaffed or whatever the case is unacceptable. The condition of the hospital is run down from the 90’s , you would think making 5,000$ on one visit for one person they’d be able to have adequate wait times and facilities. Not sure where the money is going but they should be investigated
I've been to this ER 3 times. The first time I was sent by my doctor, for a collapsed lung thatresulted from an injury. My Dr.
called them and told them I would be coming after I went home to get my cats situated. Staff were waiting for me. It took awhile but I was brought up to a room, treated, observed, etc. The second time I was brought in by ambulance with pneumonia and coughing up blood. I was treated quickly and brought to a room. The 3rd time I voluntarily went in on my own after a hard fall onto a concrete patio, where I landed on my left hip, left elbow and back of my head. I informed the staff that my pain had gotten increasingly worse despite resting and elevating my arm and leg and I was concerned there was soft tissue damage/wanted a CT Scan or MRI. I was sent back to the waiting room. A PA came out to get me and said X-rays would be taken of elbow and hip and CT scan would be taken of head. I asked about CT scan of elbow and hip since Triage RN had told me the scans would be done. PA said he didn't know anything about it - was just following the orders he got. When I read my visit notes, it looks like he was the one who gave the orders? The RN was the Triage person. There was no doctor involved. After another hour of waiting and being told the tests were what was ordered, I left. I did not see any
point staying when they had no interest in correctly diagnosing me. I went to an Ortho Emergency Clic and have a CT Scan of elbow set up for 5/8 and an MRI of hip set up for 5/14. In the meantime I am in excruciating pain.
Unacceptable- Arrogant Attitude by Male RN and Male PA. Other ERs aren't like this.
hospitalized pregnant with the flu had to be driven by ambulance my blood work was abnormal the whole stay never improved. i was sent home that same day at 11 is at night. why? was i better? no they told me my OB albany gyno said to discharge me because if not i would have to be admitted in the maternity ward. Dr. Cammacho word for word told me this. not because im good to go but because i would need a maternity bed. the OB and hospital was horrible i had no idea my OB would also play a part in pushing a too soon discharge. it was careless it was neglectful.
