I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this place, but in my experience I have found it to be a wonderful place to go to for urgent Care. I've had two occasions to bring family members in and each time they were seen quickly with treatment and or tests done within the hour. Every single person I've interacted with from the front desk to the nurses and the doctors have been pleasant and friendly. I have not had a single issue.
Very efficient and hassle free health care facilitiy with top tier staffing, I particularly appreciate the attentive and professional level of care received by The one nurse Gill. He was kind, on the ball and clearly someone who appreciates doing what he does. Give that man a promotion. Just waive the remaining credits and bump him up right passed the rest of aspiring young talent and slap that M.D badge on my guy no questions asked. Well if only it worked that way, hill would have my vote. Professionalism is of optimal level, he’s a natural and even though he’s a far greater asset in health care than most private practice providers who I’ve encountered (specialists and mds) his humility and modesty allows him to not let his talent get to his head. He makes time for everyone and I thought he was especially well versed in the tedious process of patient prioritizing. Gills the man!
My experience in the ER today has restored my faith in hospitals after having horrible experiences at the other 2 Albany hospitals. I arrived at Albany Memorial at 9am. I was the only person in the waiting room. Within 15 minutes I was taken right back to the ER and within a few minutes my IV was started and blood was drawn. I was wheeled down to get a CT scan. All my results came back quickly and treatment was started. I was discharged within 3 hours. All of the staff were polite, kind and thorough. This is the type of hospital care you definitely don't see at St Peter's or Albany Med. Great job, thank you.
My husband was seen in the emergency room yesterday he waited from 10 AM until 2 PM for a procedure to Remove a very painful abscess once the procedure took place. The PA seemed very empathetic and nice however, I do not think that she was well-versed in the procedure. She attempted to do on my husband. I am off for medical professionals learning, but give the patient a choice as to if they want to be practiced on. I also arrived. Once my husband was there for several hours. He had no pillow no blanket. He was not given a bag to put his clothes in and when I went to the nurses station to ask for a pillow, the young lady just stood there, staring at me and another nurse Auall Chimed in that he would get the pillow he was very helpful when they moved us from the ER to a waiting area for an ambulance. He was very tentative my husband‘s nurse Bree in this new part of the hospital was also very empathetic kind and attentive I don’t want to take anything from the PA personality who helped us. She was also very empathetic and nice but again Give the patient the choice to be practiced on. Don’t just assume it’s OK to use somebody as a practice dummy.
was not a good experience here. went in after getting a head injury in a soccer game. was brought in and put in a room. was brought to CT. wasn’t given anything for pain until being there for 5 hours. had to hit the nurse button to get any form of help. i was checked on one singular time without having to badger them. i’m here for a HEAD. INJURY. why did it take you 5 hours to bring me AN ASPIRIN AND AN ICE PACK??? had to ask for a blanket. only received water only to take my aspirin. after. 5. HOURS. absolutely absurd to me. Physician explained everything very poorly. My “care team” if that’s what you would call it, wasn’t even on the same page about what help i’ve received and haven’t. And the fact that there was zero concern about me losing an entire two hours of my memory is actually so beyond concerning for the state of this emergency room. I can understand being short staffed, but your staff needs to be retrained on patient etiquette and how to properly manage a bigger case load. The man who brought me to CT was so kind, I believe his name was Donavan maybe. I also had a nurse who wasn’t even on my care team who also seemed appalled at the fact that I had barely been acknowledged by my team with a HEAD. INJURY. please be better. this behavior could get somebody killed.
